Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi all, I have applied for a transfer to a school closer to my home, I am permanent with a vec. Can I ask do I automatically get a transfer or only if they need a teacher of my subjects? And also does anyone know if it is possible to transfer from one vec to another? Thanks

You would only get a transfer if there is need for your subjects.

I think I saw redeployment forms on our staff noticeboard (CDVEC) this week as well as transfer applications, so they must be for outside our VEC. I'm not absolutely sure of it though.

I can see transfers and redeployment as fraught with dangers from a union point of view - what if you land in somewhere and do a person out of a CID they would have been entitled to had you not transferred in?

Transfers were a great idea in the days when the policy seemed to be to give as many people as possible proper full hour jobs, but now, they seem like another way to kick the part-timers and people with less service.
