10 minutes of intervals on the bike - got as far as 10 minutes on the bike and I couldn't continue. In agony with my foot, pain in the ball of my foot, my heel and the outside of my foot so I had to stop. I sat down to stretch it out a bit, to see if that would free it up, no joy and I walked into the changing rooms limping :(

I feel like tearing my hair out. It's been just over a year since the accident and I'm still no better, I'd even go so far as to say, I'm worse, and I feel like I've tried everything and I've run out of options. I've gone to all the doctors, specialists, alternative treatments etc. and nothing has made any difference. I feel like utter crap now :(

Took yesterday and today off the gym. Woke up this morning in agony, couldn't get my bike boots on because my leg was so swollen so ended up having to wear my cons. My leg is absolutely killing me all morning, just a constant throbbing pain all the way down my left leg and to the outside of my foot. Going to try to rest as much as I can over the long weekend but I have plans so I'll just have to work around them. Hoping that it'll be feeling better by Monday/Tuesday.

Yesterday I began the Insanity workout program. Yesterday was just the Fit Test and a bit of an introduction to the workouts. I managed everything in the Fit Test except for the power jumps, I felt they would be way too harsh on my ankle so I just left them out.

Today I did Day 1 workout which was plyometric cardio circuit. I'm definitely not as fit as I thought I was and I was definitely not pushing myself as hard as I could've been at the gym. I was really sweating after it and completely out of breath. There was only one thing I had to leave out because it was too harsh on my ankle (I'm thinking any energetic jumping movement is out) but I was able to replace it with something else from the workout so I was able to keep moving.

I'm not sure how I'm going to work the gym in with the Insanity workouts. I'm going to follow the workout schedule, which is a workout everyday except Sundays so I'm thinking I might incorporate something low impact and slightly rehabilitating for my ankle and my knees, like swimming. The gym I'm in has a good pool so I'm going to investigate that this weekend.

Looks like things have been pretty tough lately with your injury. Fair play for getting the session in today. Just keep ploughing on!

Did Day 2 of this on Wednesday and then had to take a break last night as my ankle wasn't feeling the best. Had an appointment with my new G.P. today (my old one left the practice he was in) and I'm feeling good after the appointment. She's going to get things moving for me with regard to nerve conduction studies on my hands and an MRI on my neck and shoulder and then we're going to be looking at surgery on my hand. Feel good and bad about all this for obvious reasons. Going to do Day 3 tonight and then go swimming over the weekend.

Away with work the last 2 days so didn't do anything, back into it tonight hopefully. My ankle went from under me on Tuesday night as I was walking down some steps, very painful and swollen but it seems to just have gone back to it's usual level of swelling now. Quite sore today so I'm going to see how I'm feeling later on.

Have an appointment with my consultant to go back in July about nerve conduction studies on my hands so that's something positive coming along.

I've lost 6lbs since i started the insanity workouts. Been doing them coupled with long walks with my dog in thegood weather we've been having. The workouts are going good, still having to take more breaks than the people on the tv but i feel i've improved a small bit. Got a new tattoo on my leg at the weekend so i haven't been to the gym since. I want it to heal up as i have to get another hour done to finish this part off and I'm away all next week until after the bank holiday weekend so i won't be back to it for just over a week, will keep up the insanity workouts though.

Delighted with another 6lbs gone :D
