Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What do I need to order when replacing rear brake disk?

OP, i would say that line "PLEASE NOTE: All Discs Are Sold Individually - 2 Required Per Bike." is just standard one for the front disks and they just did not bother changing the listing text.

You are right you only need one disk. Regarding pads, I would suggest looking at the bikes manual and the manufacturers specifications, I have heard some of the e-bay pads available are cheap copies and not all that good.

After all, I am sure you want to make sure you can stop when you need to. Well I would not skimp on the brakes.

As for the pads you linked, I would not know but I am sure there will be someone soon that can advise you on that.

Not dissing you mate, but you dont come across all knowledgable about what youre doin....:o

Youre getting a good disc, you should get good pads too...otherwise they'll fcuk up yer new disc...
    Are you fitting them yourself...??
You'll find that the bolts are very hard to remove as they will have locker on them for safety,.mind you dont wreck the heads on them... you'll need Loctite when fitting them back....
Removing the rear wheel is tricky with all bikes, therll be spacers and washers falling out all over the place, remember where and how they go in...
Dont forget to re tension the chain too before you lock the axle nut completely....
    Ask questions..

Will the OP have to torque the bolts?

I suggest you give your calliper a good thorough clean with an old toothbrush, some kind of cleaner and finish with a generous amount of brake cleaner while you're in there.

My next question is cleaning and draining. But I know someone who has done that part before so I might be okay.

I have all the tools and I've taken the rear wheel off a few times already and replaced the chain and sprockets twice.

My biggest worry is ordering everything and realising I need to order a new spring or something odd like that. Because I've never changed the brakes before.

I found a matching brake pad to go with it. But it will wear quicker than a steel one. 20 euro.. I have no idea if that's a good price or not?

EBC are good pads, they'll be fine, on the back the pads will last a looong time.
