Yea I read an article on that last week, it only applies to people working in stores when they have the same 5-6 songs on repeat, it's essentially a form of mental torchure. But it only applies if you don't like Christmas music.

We have nothing to fear. It's time to start my Christmas 2017 playlist me thinks.
I can totally understand that. I worked in a restaurant and our only Christmas album had a Chipmunks version of a song on it. That was torture!

Yup another victim here, worked in Dunnes over Christmas when I was allot younger, it was during a period of hating christmas in my life and I think listening to that music 24/7 was a big factor in it.

And the general public shopping at that time of year aren't the nicest of people either to retail staff so that certainly doesn't help!

Apparently Fresh in the IFSC has Christmas lights up in their windows, and more importantly they were turned on this morning!

I got the tins of quality street in Supervalu Deansgrange. Its only when you get them in your hand you realise how much nicer a tin is to a tub. The tubs are just so cheap and flimsy.

Anyway thanks everyone for the suggestions

Got one this morning in castlebar, doing a hamper for my parents, tin first thing to go in.

Ditto. Worked part time (whilst studying in college) in Superquinn back in the early 90's and when the college holidays came along we went full time for the christmas period, 12 hour days with the same christmas tape on repeat started to grate (& thats an understatement), thankfully I managed to block it out after a while, though Madonna's version of 'Santa Baby' to this day brings me back to those days, something akin to an acid flashback!

Not sure if anyone follows r/Christmas on reddit but it's absolutely bizarre just how many Americans have their decorations up already. Some had them up the night before Halloween.

I didn't think Christmas was a big of a deal over there than it is here.

I don't think it is either. A couple of weeks ago I was in Dealz and there were a bunch of American students who were amazed to see all the Christmas stuff out in mid-October.

Just back from town and I couldn't resist getting this for my little girl in Brown Thomas. I couldn't pass it for five euro :)

I'm really surprised at that as for some reason I thought they wouldn't put anything festive up until after Thanksgiving!

Ciara, that is a beautiful stocking!! May pick up few for hubby and myself when I'm in Dublin :P tried looking for them online which probably is a good thing ;)

Parents came back from the states today with a bag full of Christmas decorations.

I have a feeling our trees (we have 3!) will be going up within the next fortnight.

freshpopcorn, I love your baubles! May get some when I'm in Dublin next! My list for things to get or places to head to is getting longer every day for when I go to Dublin! :D

A local women magazine posted on FB last night looking for Christmas lovers and one of girls tagged me and my sister did too. Looks like my friend's post won them over as they contacted me asking if I would like to be featured in their Christmas edition! :D:D
I will copy/paste my friend's post here in case anyone want to see it, it was really nice as she hate Christmas and would be a bit of Grinch but she is helping me so much sending me photos of stuff in Dublin!

"My friend XXXX is the biggest Christmas fan I know. All year she's been posting pictures, 300 sleeps til Christmas, 250 sleeps to Christmas, clock strikes midnight at Halloween and boom its Christmas.

She started her Christmas shopping in the January sales and nearly has everyone bought for now. She is collecting Disney baubles from Penney's and planning her Christmas decorations already.

She's already got a plan. The Christmas decorations must be up in time to watch The Toy Show coupled with fluffy socks, some mulled wine and new PJs.

Shell be decorating her desk in work, making Christmas cookies little gifts for everyone.

She's just non stop! Definitely deserves to be featured! X"

Got my first Christmas parcel in the post yesterday - the magnetic advent calendar from educationaltoys.ie and a jigsaw for my little girl. Have sent out my email to the fam to say get your orders in now for presents - even though I kinda know what I'm getting them, just in case there is something they particularly want.

Must check out Homestore&more at the weekend!

Just looked at the calendar and noticed this time two weeks all the shops will be advertising for Black Friday and some might have the offers on already!
