Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No matter how careful you are, no matter how much advanced training you have, you can't really do anything when someone just drives out from a junction like that.
Something similar happened to me, van was turning left off the main road onto a smaller road. I was passing the van and some woman in a fiat punto pulls out from the smaller road to the left. There's crazy people out there that are in a daydream as they're driving.

Got stung for storage costs for my bike. guards said first four days free.

    300 to release :-!

    Who rang the tow truck?

If the Guards rang it let them pay it, you didn't ask for it to be towed and if they wanted it to examine it (PSV) then they are liable for the cost

That's a pain in the hole. Wonder if your solicitor will get compensation for you for that?

    WHAT!? That's a bit ****e!
Usually you'd be able to claim loss of earnings if you were missing work. Have a word with your solicitor and keep any correspondence that confirms the job offer/lack of job offer.

    Isn't morphine lovely though?

Best of luck with the surgery kaimera. Just wondering how fast were you going when the cage ran into you?

Also two Fazers taken out on one day.. I better not let my Fazer read this thread, poor girl would be so upset..!

bout 40km. was watching the traffic up ahead trying to gauge the lights and see which turn I'd take home.

if I was in a car, I'd have hit her front fender. on the bike I tried to avoid - would have been worse if I hit the side of her ( in hindsight I guess, just been thinking how worse it could have been)

the bike - pics to big to upload on phone.

cracked engine block, rad destroyed. but doesn't look too bad to be fair lol.

writeoff tho. more to repair than its worth

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,403 ✭✭✭positron

Yep sounds like you got lucky-ish. Head on at 40 kms could have been bad.. but then again it all depends on what hits where and all that - I don't want to think about it. (Mental note to self: REALLY REALLY slow down while overtaking buses. Anything could appear ahead of the bus.)

PS: If/when you ever decide to fix up the bike, have a look at foc-u.co.uk, pleny of Fazer parts going around.
