Can't say I ever liked him but he was a huge talent and its awful to see the effects Drink has had on him since he retired. Mad to think that people can dealt such a good hand in life and still come so close to the edge.

I don't think it's a case of like of dislike with Gazza at this stage, it's just feeling sorry or not for someone whose life has turned into a train wreck.

Given his history of mental illness, it's hard to ascribe any blame to him personally, even though he has done some pretty awful things.

Here's hoping he can turn himself around though, I really admired this guy when I was a kid, what an incredible footballer in his day.
