Gil is a pretty good benchmark for when the show started to get shít. A lot of his gags would have gone to Hans Moleman in the old ones.

Don't agree. He was far from the greatest character featured (the bar being pretty high) but he was a good representation of the classic stressed salesman archetype, for whom day to day business means getting in way over his head. A great tribute to Glengarry Glen Ross & William H. Macy's character in the Coen Brothers' film Fargo. The real turning point towards ****sville (though it was a gradual process in terms of the diminuition of quality) was when they started having celebrity guests every second episode.

Agree, I don't understand the hate towards Gil.

This bland little dweeb is my least favourite character (excluding the endless stream of vacuous guest-stars)

Lyndsey Nagle is the worst i think. She started appearing when the show started its decline.

Dunno why people are saying Gils a great character

He doesnt even deserved to be mentioned in the same sentence as the great Lionel Hutz (also known as Miguel Sanchez)

aka Dr. Nguyen Van Falk (or Thoc depending on subtitles)

Kookie Kwan gives her a run for her money. Except when she took Gil's wall. Except one wall - he brought that from home.

I don't think he has a name. He's actually referred to as "Old Jewish Man" by Mayor quimby in one episode.

Hank Scorpio was great. Grandpa and Moe for more regular characters.

    What about Troy McClure???
    He has some classic lines.
"Hi, I'm Troy McClure. You might remember me from such self-help videos as "Smoke Yourself Thin", and "Get Confident, Stupid.".
    LEGEND.

An oldie one-off character not yet mentioned. Karl, Homer's guru/PA in the episode where he became a success by getting his hair back.

"It was nevah the hair Homer!"

    And Jacques, Marge's bowling coach.

    Mr Burns is the best.

I like Superintendent Chalmers and the Estonian chap who was the stuntman for Fallout Boy in the Radioactive Man film. "I only play Millhouse when he gets hurt."
