Threathen legal action and or say ye'll go to the media....if no response, I wouldn't hesitate in doing both...these chancers need to be stopped! who makes them visa experts or specialists as they like to potray themselves? they have the manner of dogs when your on the fone to them and a lot of their staff don't even have proper english. its a scam and they prey on peoples doubts and vulinarability about visa applications. what are any of their staff qualified in id like to know?

tell them exactly how you feel...they advertise and promote themselves in providing a professional service which they clearly fail to do

  • Registered Users Posts: 543 ✭✭✭WasterEx

Tbh no one here needs to justify themselves to companies such as go4less, tell them straight out you want a refund, if they refuse to give you one tell them they can expect legal action in the coming days/ weeks. Add a decent tone to that and you'll get it ;) Even if it's all a bluff coming from you, say it anyway. :)

they dont claim themselves to be visa experts they claim to be 'experts in consolidated, cheap and discount airfares'.
I must of rang them 10 times on friday and all of them were polite Irish women. in the end they gave me a useful final piece of advice in photocopying my entire lodgement slip to insure all the required information cic wanted was there.

'' they have the manner of dogs'' a bit harsh to say the least

it sounds like you were on about another organisation because your description is not of go4less imo.

sounds like someone didnt get there visa in time :P

your making a lot of presumptions there....

i rang them months ago initially to make an enquiry and i was spoken to badly...
a number of days later i received a phonecall from a man from go4less with broken english, i asked him some questions and he couldnt understand what i was asking him, had to repeat several times and still didnt understand....
it was definately go4less that i rang and ive an email from them so, no mistake...
i have gotten my application in on time and have my WTN etc thank you very much and i did the application all on my own, how about that!!

sounds to me that you may be an employee or very close to an employee of go4less!!

havnt heard too many people with anything positive to say about go4less!

hope they are paying you overtime for writing on message boards on a sunday :D

Making a lot of presumptions? It was you who presumed they were '' experts in visa's'' when it clearly says experts in flight and what not. not visa's.

lol yea I kinda just realized after I posted it would seem like I love them just a little to much :)

no not a go4less employee. During the 2 days of madness I kept on ringing them and they were all good. Helpt me out and if my 75 quid is just spent on that last phone call that told me to photocopy lodgement details then so be it.

Of course im certainly not saying you are full of ****. I just think after such a bad experience for you but many positives for me, gor4less deserve a second opinion on their services.

One of the girls told me herself that their purpose is mainly in stage two and help in getting your sin, flights, help in accom and application forms etc....
They are plenty of people on these treads saying not to go with agencies anyway.

IMO research their services first before demanding your money back.

So. I went with go4less. Went to England last Wednesday when the visas were released. Got back last night. They're all gone.

I am now wondering what I spent my 75 euro on, but am also thinking I probably won't get a refund...

The fact is that people were mis-sold a service which is against consumer law. We paid the €75 for what I was told would would be a one on one meetings throughout the whole process, not the option to attend a "seminar".

They completely messed up by advertising their services before seeing how the process worked this year, they are completely not required because of it being an online process. Whats more I found their information texts to be old news that I found out 6 hours earlier on these boards.

At the very least there should be an option to credit the €75 towards insurance/flight and for those who want a refund they should be able to get it. They will do everything in their power (ie seminars) to justify the fee paid but simply that is not what we paid for. If enough people got together to demand a credit or refund then they may just have to act. They hardly want rip off associated with their name if it went on social media.

If they continue to ignore people about issuing a refund, then doing exactly what the last poster said may work.

the e-mail i have just received back from the Go4less .

    Hi Ross,

Unfortunately we cannot offer a refund in this situation. The IEC programme launched on Tues afternoon and all of our applicants were alerted to log into the new IEC Kompass system. We have provided updates and details of arising issues through email and through the online Go4less Canada account. Our staff are also here to provide individual support if you require it by phone, email or in person in our office.

Our assistance with the IEC Kompass as above is only the first stage in the programme, once confirmed by IEC you will be prompted to apply to CIC for a work permit. We will be in touch in the coming week about our service for this stage. We will be offering seminars or meetings as well as guides through your online account. Staff will also be available for any queries, of which from our experience there are many.

If there is anything else you require, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

What a joke of a reply looks like were kissing goodbye our 75 euro i actually cant believe i went with these cowboys. what was i thinking(or maybe i wasn't):o

So glad someone talked me out of using these guys.
Feel sorry for anyone that has spent the €75 on them. Hopefully you get at least something to make it semi worth it.

Ross mate I didn't realise you actually paid out to go4less. Totally sorry, but they look like they are gonna do everything in their power to hang onto your money. Be glad you didn't pay out the redonkuluz money that USIT were looking for all the same!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,521 ✭✭✭JustRoss23

yea i did at the start but then as i understand the process more i was raging i did. yea there's not much hope of a refund but could be worse i could have paid USIT:o

I thought go4less were supposed to help us through the application process, which would have been in the last week?

To be fair thats not go4less's fault.

Make an appointment and they'll meet you. What did you expect them to do?

Why does it being online change anything? You can stamp and address an envelope as easy as they can. They can still cross check your forms before validating them and answer your questions, I know you guys are pissed you spent your €75, I paid it last year, but you didn't really look into it before paying them.

Make some noise about it on their Facebook, that always seems to work.

You won't need help getting your SIN, you'll be in and out in 30mins, they don't really offer any help getting accom and why you would associate yourself with a 'working holiday' crowd when trying to find a place I don't know, a couple of 20 year olds on a long holiday is not a landlords idea of a good tenent, and its competitive for apartments as it is. Theres nothing else you'll need help with.

I see it from both sides, and neither are fully wrong, I do think its pretty irresponsible of them to say they 'offer support' when you arrive when they don't. Someone could really need help and not be able to get it.

I was under the impression they would arrange a meeting with us to help us through the process? Not us having to arrange an interview with them. That's why the 75e was paid? In any case, I was out of the country so missed out, so I guess I'll have to suck that one up....

I do think they should credit you in some way to be fair as you have literally not received any service from them. Your not entitled to it but its nice when companies act out of good faith. Start looking towards next year buddy, I'd put in an application anyway, you never know.

interesting link on IEC third party policy....

    http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/ireland-irlande/experience_canada_experience/third_party_representatives_policy-politique_representants_tierces_parties.aspx?view=d

Under the IEC part.....IEC communicates exclusively with the applicants themselves and not through a third party. If the applicant expresses the need for it, it is possible for a third party to provide advice and help to a participant to prepare their IEC application package. However, the third party cannot charge the client for such advice and service....

Under the CIC part....Paid immigration representatives : The only representatives who may charge a fee to represent or advise applicants on immigration and refugee matters with the Government of Canada are:
    • lawyers and paralegals who are members in good standing of a Canadian provincial or territorial law society,
    • Notaries who are members in good standing of the Chambre des notaires du Québec, and
    • Immigration consultants who are members in good standing of the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council.
Wonder if go4less know about that policy....

Bit disappointed that all the info I found out here was a day before I got updated by go4less. I knew it was not really necessary to pay the €75.....
