    MACRONITE BIRTHDAY #2 W/ CTRLS (TOKEN)-BASTARDO ELECTRICO-BIG DISH GO

Once upon a time, there was an idea. That idea grew over the last two years into what has become Macronite as we know it, and we didn’t know it would be like this! We have worked to throw the best nights we possibly can, and as we enter our third year, there’s more excitement brewing, starting right here, with Macronite’s special birthday proceedings, with a very special guest, CTRLS, who you’ll all know as one half of Northern Structures who *destroyed* the warehouse last May!

Troels Knudsen lives in Copenhagen, Denmark and has been immersed in music for most of his life. This focus has mostly been fixed on the soundsystem world. He spent the last 10+ years producing, performing, engineering and dj'ing various electronic form around Europe and beyond. This activity generated the eccentric Pyro drum'n'bass moniker, house works as part of 2400 Operator on Underground Quality, and of course the industrial tinged techno project Northern Structures on Sonic Groove.

After a few years of working in groups it was time to get back to solo work. In 2012 the Ctrls project was initiated with the release of the Interface EP on the new homebase Token Records. A remix of Ø/[Phase]'s Binary Opposition was the follow up, and by then Ctrls tracks had worked their way into the sets of some of the most notable techno djs across the world.

Troels continues to develop his fast paced and futuristic style, seeking out the various nuances of techno and the surrounding genres. Future plans for the project hold more Token Records output as well as dedication to engaged and detailed dj'ing.

Joining him in the Warehouse is Cork's Bastardo Electrico. The label and long running club night have hosted some of techno's biggest names over the past decade. Jamie Behan & Warren Knowles bring the Bastardo sound to Macronite.

The terrace welcomes Dublin's BigDishGo collective.
BigDishGo DJ's are brothers Conor & Gavin Feeney and Robbie Ryan. They are also club promoters at various venues around Dublin City, but their regular haunt and home is The Underground Club @ Kennedy's.
The club nights ethos is all about getting our guest DJ's to dig deep into their collections and play what matters most to them. This formula has seen a number of memorable performances from the likes of Roman Flugel, Zombie Nation, The Glimmers, Andrew Weatherall, Ivan Smagghe, Radioactive Man, Michael Mayer, Luke Vibert, DJ Food and Jazz Steppa to name but just a few.

So bring some cake and cocktail sausages, drink lots of beer and stay up all night!
