After logging over 80 hours to this game since Xmas, i wasn't initially happy with it,

but holy crap is it a good game. 9.99 for the HoS expansion was well worth it.
19.99 for Blood and Wine, I havent started it yet but even the new patch was worth it. Finally got my wolf armor!

On that actually, anyone do the
Forge of the witchers quest, I got a free Master crafted wolven armor chest bit. I have 2 now!!!!

Great game though. I would imagine at some stage I will do a second playthrough, and I never ever do that!!!!1

Yeah I actually found it only when I returned to do Blood and Wine. Found a few things I had missed actually. Haven't had that happen since Skyrim.

I've already stumbled upon a couple of things I missed on my first two play-throughs, and also reminding myself of some of the missions I love.

Tower of Mice is great. Brilliant atmosphere on the isle, and very tragic story. Taking it slow, but getting anxious to play B&W with all these spoiler tags above! :D

That game coming to E3 from CD Projekt Red is supposedly the inevitable Gwent game.

Finished up my 2nd playthrough of the main game just there on mostly Death March. I had to lower the difficulty for the escort of Keira passed those portals and on Caranthir at the very end of the game too.

Caranthir was just frustrating on Death March, one shot kills are just annoying.

Wrapped up blood and wine today , have to say this was possibly the best add-on for a game ever. Feels cheap to call it an add on or dlc or even expansion given I got more out of it in a week than 90% of most of the AAA retail games I've played in recent times.

Went through the 3 ending by reloading an earlier save and I would suggest folks do the same as there are parts/quests unique to them after the ending the videos don't show.

I'm torn as to which I preferred. the
unseen vampire / boss fight with dettlaff was probably more in keeping with the witcher series
    but the
    Fablesphere
    was so much more fun.

    The ending where
    both the sisters died
    felt the most fitting imo.

They must have been working on this since they finished the main game or even before such is level of content and detail. No way they put this out on 6 months. One thing I can fault them on though and it's a big one which caused us to drop the difficulty (we play as a team, herself drives Roach and I do the fighting) and haven't seen mentioned here was they broke lock on and camera in this dlc. Lock on is outright broken and doesn't work but I believe a patch is inbound to fix it.

It wasn't just me with the lock-on then? That bugged me a bit. Was mostly fine as I was so over powered that even the tough bosses had a slog of going through me if I slipped up and I was able to recover but became an issue when fighting
    Dethlaff in his second form.
Which is funnily when it finally started to work again too, as if the game could sense my frustration. I agree in regards the better ending too. Though as you mentioned, the other one is interesting; 'We should name them', 'I'll call mine Roach.'

    Did that quite early on.

    I finished HoS last night
I sided with Olgeird. I feel stupid now as he was a bit of a twat. Saying that i read about the rewards from O'Dimm before hand and found them rubbish. Nice beating the most powerful being in the series though. Off to Toussant next!

Well that was a ****ing masterpiece. Got the
    Happy
    ending where
    both sisters lived
. Only missing the King of the Clink trophy and looked it up there, turns out I just
have to not accept the ribbon. I thought I would just have to go the other route of looking for the unseen vampire instead of syanna. Is that where the 3rd ending comes in?
    The fable land
was completely unexpected and brilliant. Kept stopping to take screenshots.

Have some side stuff left to do and still a ton of question marks on the map but at least I have my Grandmaster Wolf armour to do them in.

Before playing this, I said I was kinda glad there will be no more DLC so CDPR can focus on Cyberpunk but I've completely changed my mind, I want more.

Excellent send off to the game. This definitely deserves to be in the GOTY awards even though it's only 'DLC'

    P.S. Having
Yen turn up at the end to settle down in Corvo Bianco was the cherry on top.

It's worth doing the other route Zero ,felt more in keeping with the witcher but I preferred the one you already did.

Hmmmm for the other 2 endings
You have to bring Syanna to Dattlaff and she has to die so can't have the ribbon
and I think the other was to go the route you didn't choose and
    Kill him

There are slight variations an getting to those results I think so if you know what will happen Id say look it up as to how to get them.

The sheer quality of CDPR's storytelling for both DLC and main game side quests in general are so far above what other games have as main quests.

Its brilliant that even minor side quests and witcher contracts are fleshed out and no two ever feel alike. The bar has been set really high by CDPR.

Without even trying. Apparently if you aren't full on a-hole they think you are alright. The guides on it seem to be inaccurate though.

Lads after owning the game for months and four false starts I finally jumped in and played a few hours last Saturday.

I managed to kill a few Wolves and Drowners (felt like a badass :D) and won my first game of Gwent. I got as far as finding a hunter guy to show me the way to a Griffen nest and loved every minute.

Can't wait to get back into it :)

Done. 100%. Did both endings (though I suspect there is a third). Both pretty great and interesting. There's a definite finality in them. What I find odd is unlike Hearts of Stone it is implied this all happens after the events of the main game but a few details don't match up (in classic Witcher style). Would love a companion to fill in the gaps though.

And very sad that its finally over. A year long adventure.

Also very sad its over, tempted to go back and read the books again!

Just finished last night, got the "happy ending" first, then went back and did the others. Feel
bad for Regis, being hunted by all the other vampires. :( Loved the conversation you have with him in the graveyard, They do deserve a rest. Still it was great to see another of the more prominent book characters back, Regis was always one of the more interesting characters.
So after doing the Orianna quests in the ending she's the vampire that appears in the "a night to remember" trailer, saying he'll hunt her down one day. She even hums the song thats the same as in the trailer, in which Geralt replies "nice tune, been awhile since I've heard it last" So I guess Geralt made good on his promise to get her! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-l29HlKkXU

Blood and Wine is a great endnote to the game. My only gripe is the aftermath of the main story if :
Anna Henrietta and Syanna die leaving no heirs. It's mentioned a number of times that the Duchy of Toussaint descends into chaos. You don't witness that though when you continue after the main story. Toussaint is still as idyllic and peaceful as it was from the beginning. I'd have loved if the Hanse bandit Strongholds posed a serious threat to the Duchy in this regard
    .

That subtle smile Geralt gives the camera though. :(

I have finally crafted all the mastercrafted gear.

I now wish I could keep the stats but go back to older model looks. I dont like the feline gear anymore.

I think the different looks dont do a huge amount, my Griffen gear looked better in level 1-2 than it does now.

My brother in law is a big Skyrim fan.

Will he enjoy this? How similar is it? Some details would be great.

Like it keeps coming up in youtube critics videos i watch as a great game, but I need some specifics to convince him he'll like it as much as Skyrim :o

I didn't enjoy Skyrim, thought I just preferred gun 'RPG's' like Fallout, until I played Witcher. Pisses all over Skyrim.

It might take him a bit of time to get used to it. I'm just thinking back to how many posts I saw in this thread that went along the lines of "Tried it a few weeks back, couldn't get into it, but now love it". (I was one of them!)

It's a little unforgiving in the sense of initial immersion, but once it gets chugging it's a astounding game from A-Z.

I have 35 hours played of B&W and I have barely touched the main story and just crafted my first GM set of gear
must actually go and get that vineyard as well

Tell him play it, but make sure he gets to level 8 before he really makes up his mind.
Crafting that first set of witcher gear is a great goal.

I listened to someone else here who said to play the bloody baron quest, I was grinding up to that point, but what a quest!!!!

Easily the best game is have played in ages. In terms of actual game it ranks well with GTA 5, and I never thought I would say that!!!!

I found the GM gear (Feline) a bit underwhelming given the cost and time involved. The heavy set you get in the cemetery with Regis that regens your vitality for kills seems better. Maybe I made a mistake getting light armor, the massive increase in damage taken doesn't seem worth the stamina regen.

The level 45/46 touisant armors look pretty good.

Once he plays this he'll forget Skyrim ever existed .
