Can you lose one from Priscilla, not to spoil anything but you get one chance with her as far as I have seen so far, lost the match as she has a strange deck and could not play her again.

I saved at every opportunity during that just incase I lost . I'm pretty sure you can't get them anywhere else. They are all
    Leader
    cards if I recall.

Normally would of saved, but at the point when you see the gwent option, you really are not expecting to be having a match.

I haven't played gwent at all except for the tutorial at the start.
There's a quest where you have to play the Bloody Baron and a few others at crows perch, but the Barons left after I finished the family matters quest and there's an x beside his name so I'm guessing there's no way of getting his card
    ?

Where do you get the new Gwent deck? I started a game with someone, it's not there. I noticed Zoltan's card changed, is it just reskinned cards?

See, I don't get this... Some people enjoy hording and finding items... But a game is supposed to be fun and enjoyable... If an optional aspect isn't appealing, then why bother?

    I want the platinum trophy.

I would agree here. For me, I love Gwent, it is alot of fun and I am quite close to completing the decks.

I'm so glad I stopped giving a hoot about that kind of stuff and instead started making my own 'achievements' like I used to when I was a kid. They're sometimes fun... and TW3 actually has a lot better ones that some games have... but I don't want to bother with them precisely because I like the game and just want to immerse myself in it.

I like collecting trophies for Devil May Cry type games, though. Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae is the only steam game I have all achievements with.

GOG tells me I've 27% the achievements.

Does heavy armour make much of a difference to stamina? I'm wearing the basic bear gear at the moment and I can't see much change in the regen tbh.

I like playing Gwent it's just collection of all the cards is a bit tedious and a little random. I like to platinum games like these, I get great satisfaction in finishing everything in the trophy list. Dunno why but that's just the way I like to play it. I wouldn't do it with most games only large RPG style games.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,505 ✭✭✭✭Xenji

I probably will never have any interest in platinuming games or collecting trophies, with very rare exceptions. For one thing my backlog is huge and if I have enjoyed a game and finished it, I do not really want to spend hours running around collecting random stuff or beating a certain amount of enemies and making it tedious when I can start something new.

Collecting the Gwent cards isn't really random at all, just the information isn't so readily available.

Dark Souls rules, keeping rolling and attack at his side when he uses the overhead swing or ground smash.

Just played him today on death march, Bit of a pain alright. He has a fairly predictable pattern,

So what you do is use Quen all the time for that free hit on you, attack his shield from the front 3 times with quick attack and then strafe left or right as he will attack you. hit him with a strong attack once or twice if you are feeling brave. Sometimes he will attack after the second quick attack on his shield so keep an eye

If he teleports use Igni on him to remove his ice shield thing.

Once he drops his shield in his second form, begin to roll around the place until he sticks his mallet in the ground then jump in for one strong attack and roll back again quickly. He will attack you 3 times and on his 3rd time will get stuck so just rinse and repeat.

That's what I was trying. I'll keep at it. I haven't had this many attempts at a battle since the first griffin.

Yeah I definitely had my fair share of try's at him today, Got close a couple of times but he would always teleport where I was rolling in his second phase and absolutely smash with 3 shots. Much foul language was shouted!

I got him down to one tiny sliver of health twice, one more hit would have finished it. I respecced and am doing much more damage now.

Easy enough to get him to the final stage, i would recomend rolling forwards 3 times then Quen and Hard/Quick attack when his hammer sticks in the ground. Rolling backwards can get you smashed very quickly.

Repeat and its done took me a fair few goes to get him.

I'm genuinely not sure how close I am to the end but I did just get a message saying now would be a good time to manually save as some side quests etc will be lost.

Good thing is I've only got the collect em all side quest, 2 contracts and 1 treasure quest.

Really getting into the main story line now. Going to tackle this mission properly tomorrow and I think I'll increase to Death March as I'm probably a bit OP.

The map/quest markers are really stating to annoy me now, you need to be able to choose which objective you want to minimap, also on Act 2 on the
    isle of mists
you are supposed to escort someone to back to point X and mini map is tracking you to the next objective

You still have a nice bit to go.

I am not going to get mine it seems :(. I have most decks full, North R I have 39 Unit cards, Soc I have 37, Nilf I have 37 and Monster I have 34. I think I am right in saying there is 40 unit cards per faction?

Last night I entered the Tourny and beat
    the Halfling, and Sasha
but you can't save after beating the second opponent (it took quite a few goes to beat the first 2) so I ended up losing the third match which kicked me out of the tourny.

Shame, I really wanted all of the cards in the game, I don't like how some cards are tied to quests, if you miss or fail the quest you lose the cards.

Edit - Well done sheehy83 not as easy to get them all as some people might think!

Nice one well done, Just working on it at the moment. downloaded the maps to photoshop and I just X of anytime I play a someone for a card or buy cards of someone. Easiest way to keep track if I can see where I've been.

    4113Fud.jpg

    EDIT: 40 Northern Relms, 41 Nilf(Milf)gaard, 44 Monsters, 41 Scoia'tael, 29 neutral

Im fairly sure it auto saved for me after beating each guy so i would just load that file if i lost. Have a look at your save files and try liad a few different ones.

I really have no interest in the card game, am I missing out on any experience by avoiding it?
