    So what's the best way to get current local news on your mobile?

    I can't find any rss feeds. Facebook is an option but do you follow the Tribune or GBFM?

    I am looking for an easy site for a mobile that just lists news stories.

    Facebook is pretty good once you subscribe to Galway advertiser, Galway Independent and City Tribune..... Galway advertiser has 24000 followers as we speak.
    I assume you have a smart phone witha facebook app or are able to set it up

    I have Twitter on my phone so get news from
    @galwayindo
    @galwayad
    @GalwayBayFM958

    On Twitter, I follow (for Galway):
    http://www.twitter.com/CTribune
    http://www.twitter.comgalwayindo

    On Facebook, I follow
    http://www.facebook.com/ConnachtTribune
    http://www.facebook.com/GalwayIndependent

    FB can be a pain though ... you have to Like the page and then click 'subscribe' to it, otherwise not all the posts seems to appear in my timeline.

    I find Twitter the handiest though, I set alerts for the news tweets to flash up in preview mode on the screen of my iPhone during the daytime, so I get them like a text message.

    I get Galway Advertiser on Facebook. Find them quite good with the news.

    Having compared all of them the Tribune seems better for actual news. The others seem to contain a lot of promotions etc.

    I am surprised that none of them have an rss feed.

    Any Google News search can be viewed in RSS

    Google News > Seach "Galway" > RSS link at bottom of page
