Charming. Still, if that's what you consider informed debate then go for it.

If you want informed debate don't start throwing out accusations of rose tinted anything. I didn't make any reference to what i think he deserves or any possible leniency i think he should get. I think the club should give him the maximum allowed under the clubs rules.

Nonsense. Repeat offenders get the same treatment in the media. Barton was English....he was frequently lambasted in the media. As is Rooney every time he shags a granny, cheats with prostitutes, kicks people, swears at a camera.

Come on, take your Pool tinted glasses off. Persecution complex's are boring. Suarez has history, that's why a big deal is made. It's not because he's the best footballer ever or because he plays for your club.

That explains the Suarez v Terry punishment then eh

    Anyone watching Neville on MNF?

    Death penalty?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    Death penalty?

Why would you think that? He's probably one of the most sensible people around when talking about the game. Talked about how in England we see biting/spitting as far worse than leg breaking tackles etc. because of our culture differences. Went on to say that the idea that we have to sell him is ridiculous, despite the media frenzy behind it to happen. Best pundit around by quite a distance.

More because of his hate-Liverpool sentiments in the past.

I can't decide if I hate Nev more for being the Shop Steward for Man Utd or being so sensible now. :pac:

Still think FSG will cash their chips in this summer though.

Neville is the best pundit out there AINEC. As much as the majority of us hated him as a united player he really does speak a lot of sense. Its a pity some of those rag top "journos" wouldn't take a leaf out of his book.
Edit: I'm including Henry Winter (who used to be a top journo) in that bracket. He said in his article today in Telegraph that its time to get rid of Suarez.

I'd love to see Mark Lawrenson try to tactically analyze yesterday's Spurs performance the way Neville did tonight on his screen thingie. Lawrenson and so many others can barely follow a match live. It has blown my mind that Neville's not only NOT a bumbling failure, but he's damn good at his job, Suarez defence, or not.

    Couldn't agree more.
As a player he wound me up no end, couldn't stand him.
Now as a pundit he is balanced and clearly knows his stuff.

Also he has been very complimentary about Liverpool as a club.
He's made me realise that his characteristics on the field are just his own on filed competitiveness as an footballer coming through.

Does not really reflect on him as a person and I think people should think of that before calling Suarez a despicable human being etc.
This combined with Torres leaving how he did, when I thought he was a true red has made me not hate or love players anymore.

The thing I hate most about Gary Neville is the fact that he's making me not hate Gary Neville. Stop being so reasoned and intelligent

It's like they're making an effort to be as retarded as possible with the bulk of the analysis just so Neville can come on, being all sane and sh*t, and sicken me with how much I've grown to like his punditry.

He doesn't go far enough with the culture thing.

The whole "manly men" bull****, that's a myth anyway given the amount of diving and other ****e British players get up to, is an utterly neanderthal notion that belongs somewhere back in the 19th century.

That someone could be so colossaly ignorant to be more offended by being bitten or spat on - taking it well beyond any reasoned analysis - than by a tackle that could break someone's leg, or break their nose, or you know, actually harm them, is just giving me a massive brain haemorrhage.

Someone here was calling RVP a tap-in merchant on this thread, earlier. Oops. He's got Golden Boot wrapped up, I'd say. Silly, silly Suarez.

I love having him at Liverpool, but if he missed out on the golden boot because of his own stupidity it serves him right. As someone said yesterday if this had happened and we were in a fight for fourth or better I would be a lot more pissed off with him.

To be honest, losing the golden boot because of yesterday will sicken him the most I bet.

''Rodgers, like Dalglish before him, has discovered that backing Suárez to the hilt and being undermined by him comes with the job.''

The way Van Persie is playing, he might have it lost before Suarez's case even goes before the FA...

I'd actually rate Aguero last week as worse than the Suarez incident. He bit someone, hardly going to kill Ivanovic but Aguero went out to seriously injure Luiz and gets off scott free. FA logic I guess.

If hes here next season we seriously need to sort the lads anger issues out. The diving isisnt as bad as it used to be so hopefully we could do something about the anger issue.
This will be his second season in a row hell get a lenghty ban, lets not forget he was threading a fine line for a 2 game suspension for recieving ten yellows before a couple of weeks ago. I love him as much as the next liverpool fan but he needs to cut the **** out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,775 ✭✭✭✭Gbear

I saw some people ridiculing the notion that Suarez needs psychiatric or psychological help.

    He very clearly does.

If you had a duff knee you'd go to a knee specialist.
    He has a duff brain.

The funny thing is, all the lads who do not support Liverpool calling him a scum bag, most said they would have him in there team no problem....

Love him, but he made a stupid mistake yesterday. I would only sell him if he causes more problems like this next season.

I would be more worried about the ban the FA give him now. Will they go over board?

One Utd fan I play 5-a-side with said he would stop supporting Utd if they signed Suarez....Me hole I said!

Anyone think that assuming fsg don't look to cash in on him, the fact he's dragged us through the mire again will see whatever thought he had of leaving in the summer go out the windows as he will feel he owes us (yet again)?

I think you are right but will FSG turf him out the door now . They have all their ammo to do it . It would be hateful to see him be sold .

Now is the perfect time to get rid but these guys know sport and sportsmen. IF they want rid of him, they need to give the manager a lot of money ON TOP of the Suarez transfer fee.

IMO The manager the owners and the fans all want to keep him.

That is very true , I guess we will have to wait and see . I still honestly don't trust our owners 100% yet but they are gaining it slowly . I think we will see what they are all about this summer .

I'm with you on the owners... so far OK. Stadium plans seem to be moving along and investment to date has been good BUT we need these guys to pull a rabbit (big bag of dosh) out of somewhere.

TBH I'm quite happy with the money we are spending its just we need to stop wasting alot of it . I think the stadium issue is sorted once we buy the remaining houses around anfield .
Some of their decisions have been quite baffling Comolli , Chang and Ayre . Thank god they got rid of two of them . I would hope to see Ayre gone soon he doesn't seem to have a clue at all .

Javi Varas had a great game for Celta tonight
seen him plenty of times for Sevilla & Celta & has always been a superb keeper
he would be a good signing imo & would be cheap

He has been a joke from the offset .

When Suarez was accused of Racist behaviour he should have stepped in and decided on a course of action . Instead he went into hiding and left Kenny and Suarez out to dry .

When Suarez refused to shake Evra's hand he bent over backwards making him apologise . He should have stuck up for Luis but he didn't .

The day he spent at Sky Sports telling the world about the search for our new manager . We still hadn't made Brendan our manager . It was cringe listening to all the crap he spouted that day .

We let Andy Carroll go to West Ham and Ayre promised a replacement would be signed . But it didn't happen and he went home at 9 on the final day of the window . That to me was criminal . He knew he had some money to spend and he should have worked tirelessly to get Brendan a striker .

He seems to be a bad negotiater when it comes to signing players . The amount of money we have overspent on players is mental . That is partly his fault .

I don't like the man he seems to be good at getting commercials deals for the club but is the only thing he seems to be good at . Everything else feels like it is getting done half @rsed .

Tomorrow's Independent reporting Suarez will get a 7 game ban.

Meaning he'll miss the first 3 games of next season.

The rest might do him good. Silver linings and all that...
