Visa Debit Limit

    Hi,

I am planning on going to the UK to purchase a car for close to £10,000.  It will be a Saturday so a bank draft won't have cleared and the dealer charges a 3% fee for credit card usage.  Based on this I will be using a combination of Stg cash and my debit card.

I have seen differing opinions for BOI relating to daily vs. transaction vs. store limits.
    1. Am i correct that there is a €2500 BOI transaction limit?
    2. Is there any "daily" limit in addition to the transaction limit? (assuming sufficient funds are in the account)

    Regards,
    Ranleth

    Hi Ranleth,

The limit of a Visa Debit card is the what ever amount is currently available in your account and which the retailer can authorise.

Although you can use up to your available funds on your Visa Debit card, the merchant you are doing the transaction with may have a floor limit themselves but you can check this with them.

Thank you very much for asking.
    Thanks
    Linda
