I am assuming most people have instant on power settings ....

Turn off the console and look at the power brick. It should have a white light still on it after powering off.

When this light turns orange the update has been downloaded and you can power it up to install it.

Where people tend to run into problems is by turning the console on and off to see if the update is there every few minutes, they do not give it enough time to download the update.

Power off, when the brick turns orange your good to go. This could take 10 - 30 minutes of living the xbox powered off.
Many thanks. I did all this with the Feb update. I remember I gave up trying and hours later I went to Settings and it said, 'Time to update your console'. This was hours after I'd last rebooted so I think the update is just there when it's there, no need to constantly reboot.

What about if it's set to UK?
    Does it matter?

FWIW: Loads of people in the States haven't got the update yet so it's just patience.

"No selling on the Games forums. Use adverts.ie for that..."

Exact infraction I received earlier, you however didn't receive an infraction I don't think or else they're not public.

Anywhere that does would be selling them for far more than you could pick one up on Amazon.

Think I mentioned here already I got mine from there , it was the orb one.

Can't fault it , it's rock solid, gas think is new TV's are so slim and light I was worried about the weight of the kinect on top mine, it's almost has heavy as my TV. Cost me about €16 delivered with parcel motel as shipping was cheaper with them.

Left mine on standby since yesterday evening and switched on today expecting an update but nothing. Same today looks like no update downloading as light is static on the router for the xbox

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,207 ✭✭✭miralize

Hard reset it, turn it on and then turn it off while in Instant On. Got it after 10 mins.

What cables are people using to update their controllers?
I've tried all I have lying around (PS3, digital cameras etc) but none are right and I don't need the play & charge kit.

When you say Kinect isnt on. Do you mean not responding to voice commands? or gestures? or both?

Actually when you say this I think mine is not working either. Wouldn't turn off or go home. May check again now.

I'd try Xbox support, maybe there is a way to re download the patch. Have you tried a hard reset, holding down the power button for about 7 seconds.

has anyone who soldered the original headset adapter to use their turtle beaches
updated their controller yet? i just want to make sure that the new update doesn't interfere with the modification before I do it.

I soldered mine and my turtle beaches are still working great after the update. :)

Just a tightness to the analog sticks iirc
The update comes in light of Titanfall‘s release as well. Respawn Entertainment, makers of the upcoming blockbuster shooter, felt that the Xbox One’s input was a little too imprecise for its game. The company worked with Microsoft’s engineers and found a firmware-based solution.

It's less twitchy imo. Noticed it playing Forza.

Does anyone else find that since the update, the voice commands are working a lot better now?, maybe its my imagination but I've definitely been repeating myself less, and I dont have to say them as loudly either.

Yes I have noticed the same.

Before when I said 'Xbox Turn Off', nothing would happen when I said 'yes' after that command. Now it works fine.

They're a bit pricey!! The XO Fours are only $99.95 from the Turtle Beach website. I thought that would convert to €99.99 over here.

The xbox sends the game and chat audio wireless to the audio adapter that clips onto the controller.

Something to note is that the adapter is a stereo adapter so if you want surround sound you'll need to get a headset that connects into the optical port at the back of the xbox.
