Happens me constantly. The dice forum has a sticky saying that they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix.

So I assume there's a patch coming out? This is not just the Xbox one from what I've read online. It seems to span all consoles and generations. These problems occurred from launch day. That was 3 weeks ago. I'll go to the Dice forum and take a look. I'm getting my PS 4 on Friday. This doesn't sound good.:(

Download xbox update, scan fifa code, let it download away, then pop in BF4 disc and play campaign while you download updates and dlc.

I'd actually recommend, if you're into fighters, that you download Killer Instinct before FIFA, because only one download runs at a time. Get the small ones out of the way first so you have different things to play (also Kinect Sports Pre-Season is worth a look, surprisingly), then let it plough away on FIFA for you

Anyone else having this issue and how bad is it, Xbox One TV Integration is apparently 'broken' For UK & Europe: Sky 50Hz Stutter
Microsoft’s Xbox One next-generation console launched to great fanfare yesterday, with more than 1 million units sold within 24 hours. One of the most heavily advertised features of the Xbox One is its ability to integrate live TV feed from your set-top box, be it terrestrial (Freeview HD), satellite (Freesat or Sky) or cable (Virgin Media) broadcast. However, since receiving their consoles yesterday, a number of British owners have complained about the TV integration feature being broken, due to the introduction of judder with 50Hz content.

Before delving into why this is happening, first let us explain how the TV integration feature on the Xbox One works. Essentially the home entertainment console acts as a HDMI passthrough device: its HDMI input port will accept the output from a set-top box (for example, a Sky+HD box), and then display the content on your TV either in full-screen mode, within the dashboard, or together with other apps using the Xbox One’s multitasking capability (dubbed “Snap” by Microsoft).

The problem is that the native frame rate of the Xbox One is 60Hz, but the United Kingdom and Europe use a 50hz broadcasting system, which is the result of the historical use of PAL and SECAM analogue broadcasting systems. To display a 50Hz video signal on a 60Hz system, a process called frame rate conversion (FRC) needs to take place, which at the best of times will incur some judder. Depending on the implementation and also the original resolution (720p or 1080i), viewers may notice dropped/skipped frames or stutter especially during panning shots in fast-action sports material such as live football broadcast.

Roger Tinsley, a web developer in Northern Ireland, told HDTVTest about his experience when watching Sky Sports through his shiny new Xbox One:

"The score ticker was juddery during Soccer Saturday, and Spanish football was dropping frames when the camera was panning."

While users in the USA won’t be affected by this issue since their NTSC broadcast system is 60Hz-based, UK and European owners of the Xbox One will be hoping that Microsoft will soon release a software update to at least enable judder-free display of 50Hz broadcast material in full-screen mode, even though this may entail some sort of re-handshake with the TV. It’s very unlikely that the “Snapped” mode can be totally smooth when 50Hz content is used as one of the sources, because ultimately the screen can only display at one refresh rate which is more likely than not to be 60Hz.

I've seen no issue with my freeview box - Ferguson ariva.

There's bound to be some incompatibility with older hardware. People are just going to have to get over this fact, otherwise we'd have coax out and scart ports and dial up modems in our new consoles. Manufacturers can't let legacy hardware hold back the advances in tech. I remember when the Xbox 360 came out, half the place pitched a fit because they had to update to a hd tv to get the best picture, and the other half complained because there was no hdmi. Seven years on, it's fair to say they got it mostly right. To All the people cribbing about broadband speeds etc, fair enough, but tech will move on and get better.

There is def something going on. I am having serious problems connecting my Magnet PVR HD box, it works for a while but after a few hours it stops working. I have to connect it back to the AVR (picture comes back straight away) and then if I connect it back to the XBOX sometimes I get the picture back sometimes I dont... bit odd. I am not sure if it is related though it could be the HDMI port on the XBOX altough it does not say "no signal" i just get at a blank screen.

Twice now my campaign save for BF4 has disappeared.
Is there anyway to change notifications (would like to get one when friends go online) and to turn off some of the automatic game recording? Really don't need a hard drive full of clips of my keeper punching the ball clear?

It's not an outdated hardware issue, it's just the standard in the Europe. Big oversight by MS, obviously TV features were designed with the US in mind.

Having lots of BF4 issues one the Xbox one, crashes a lot while loading levels. Had similar issues with it on the 360, really poor form shipping a game with this many serious bugs

Fairly p***ed. ordered off shopto.net and had opted for standard delivery. last week i got charged and i was charged for express delivery (EXTRA £20!!). but I decided to go with it it would mean it would be here on friday (for my birthday which consisted of the lads over playing fifa with a few beers, would have been ideal.) but somehow tnt processed it as a standard delivery item after I paying for express. I'm now getting it tomorrow (hopefully) 4 days late and at the start of my school week (6th year)... so p***ed

Does anyone know if we can get any sort of use from the NFL function at present, or if there's plans to make it usable over here in the future?
I downloaded the NFL app just to see, I have now knowledge at all about the sport so I just wanted to see if there was anything there. I could use it and there seemed to be a lot of stuff there, it wouldn't let me into certain things that required a subscription and I tried to activate it but it requires you to sign in to your TV service providers site to authenticate. I did have a flick through a few things like a talk show, weekly recaps, stuff like that and it let me watch, I left it on for a few mins only. Again, I have no knowledge of the sport so it could be of no use to someone who does, but there is stuff there that can be used alright. Similar thing with ESPN, neither seem to have anything live available for free though, as you'd expect.

Could we see this sort of thing with premier league matches and fantasy football ? The stats are "powered by EA" and Fantasy football is in association with EA. They could easily implement this like the fantasy nba thing already there. But then again we aren't in the USA so they probably won't pay us any attention ..

What could have been done/can still be done to sort that?

If I was to set this up in my house over broadband, is then possible to have it run offline somewhere else?

Is it possible to change the refresh rate of a sky box from 50hz to 60hz?

Do you guys recommend getting the xbox live subscription for a child or would it be unnecessary??

    Yes.

Just take the microphone from him and change the privacy settings so you can't hear what anyone says.

If he's at an age that you sort of trust him give him the mic but make his preferences so he can only communicate with his friends and can't hear anyone else.

Then just monitor his friends list.

    Hope that helps.

Would it not be better to discuss the issue like others have and not have another go at me, you know it is ok to discuss issues relating to the console in its own forum don't you

All working fine for me too. Loving the console actually, I am really enjoying DR3 and I am pleasantly surprised with Forza as Racing Sims wouldn't usually be my type of game! The Kinect is working really well for me except when I say XBOX, Record that. Must not like my lovely Limerick Accent :D , seems to work ok for everything else though!
