    Hi,

If anyone has been to DCU in their multi - media masters I would very much appreciate some feedback as well. I have an interview next month.

Dorio is the interview that you are going to for the evening or full time course. I got in touch with previous students by going to there tumbler site, some names and linkedin links are there. I got some good feedback about the course, I am sure they would be more then willing to describe the interview for you too.

It's for the full-time course. That's great thanks mogorman. Will do. The interview doesn't seem too daunting. It's a twenty minute interview with five minutes dedicated to a presentation on your own favourite game, app or website. I'm just about to finish my undergrad in marketing so I don't have a lot of technical experience in these areas but they interest me immensely. Was hoping someone might know if any technical know how is required.

    Hi guys,

I've just finished my second semester in the full time stream. The third semester is project based so all classes have finished. I have really loved the course. It gives you a chance to try everything and then specialise in what you are interested in.
For instance, since I went in I have created:

A website for a ficticious Record Label using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

A video of a girl being possessed by a Demon through a mirror. This was created using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
    Link to Youtube Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cx4pNQ1pOE

A board game where players must swap their internal organs to win (due to a virus which has gotten all players quarantined).
    Link to Blog: http://quarantine2013.tumblr.com/

A conceptual iPhone app named SoS Location Tracker which would allow a user to contact friends in an emergency situation.
    Link to Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SosLocationTracker
    Link to Youtube Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jx4e8Sr6O1Q

An Endless Runner game for the iPhone which is now up on the App Store called El Bandido. This was a 12 week project.
You can download it for free here if you want to see what it's like: https://itunes.apple.com/en/app/elBandidoAPP/id637469717?mt=8

A Dynamic Mobile Website based on an app for College Students. It allows for calls to a database to pull back college data, geolocationing, rich media handling and uses a concatenation of HTML5, JQuery, JavaScript, Ajax and JSON.

A User Interface project where I researched and designed an iPhone application from start to finish, creating each page and asset in Photoshop and Illustrator. I plan on using this UI to actually develop the app during the summer.

These were all small project based assignments and I can pull all of these into my portfolio when looking for employment or funding.
This doesn't even include my final project which I will be starting soon so you really come away with some tangible pieces of interesting work.

The lecturers are fantastic, really cutting edge in their respective fields and work hard to bring the most relevant and exciting innovations to the class as well as what they believe will get you employment afterwards. It is a very practical course and you will work hard but in my opinion it's worth every penny and you get back what you put in especially in terms of your projects which reflect your work.

Here's our showreel from this year: http://istory.ie/projects/showreel

    Hi,

Is it all project based or are there any exams. Is there a huge dissertation element to it at all?

    Cheers
