portal/half life movie?

came across this article on ars technica where gabe newell of valve fame and a tv/movie producer were having a public discussion on the merits of storytelling via film and gaming.

I'd think half life has a great background story that might translate to the big screen but,and its a big but,most game franchise movies have sucked donkeyballs big time.

I don't think there has been a single good movie based on a game franchise. I'd hope if anyone could do it, it would be Valve, but I haven't high hopes.

Mortal Kombat would have been my one exception if it was actually good. It was at least true to the game though.

I donno, i trust valve not to release/allow a bad movie.

Prediction... Valve/Warcraft and "IF" they make a halo movie, will all be really good. :P
