This has the makings of a great game.

newcastle wont come up and play for a draw so it should be a good open game with bale having plenty of space

Holtby to score his first this weeken

    3-1 to spurs or 4-2

Very optimistic scoreline there... Newcastle have a new lease of life in 2013... I'm not so sure we'll score 3-4 goals to be honest.

this new lease of life is why i think we will score a few. They will be attacking and wide open at the back

I agree, I think there'll be plenty of goals in this one, and a lot will depend on who we have up front. If Ade starts, and is arsed, with Bale and Lennon in great form, stick Holtby on and we should have a great chance. If Ade plays and does his disappearing act, we'll struggle. Cisse is scoring plenty of goals and although these new French lads may not have settled yet, they look like decent players.

It will certainly be an open match anyway!

Newcastle might saunter into town thinking their troubles are behind them after signing half a new team and beating chelsea, so now would be a good time to catch them cold...

However, we play better on the road these days and struggle at home with 1 striker let alone none. I'm going for a 1-1 draw.

Really hope we win this one, my folks are gone over and the old man will be like a lunatic for the weekend if we don't do the business :D

Fancy this to be a draw, we've only won one match away so far this season & we were hanging on for dear life in that game. Yes we have a new lease of life but we're still extremely vulnerable at the back, the new signings will need time to bed in too & Cisse is struggling to consistently find the net.

In saying that though, Spurs away record this season has been stronger than their home, not the kind of form you want to show if your serious about getting back into the champions league. Maybe they feel the pressure more when their at home.

    1-1

I think that's more relevant when a team isn't doing very well, if our home form was better while still maintaining our current away form, well there's no doubt that we'd be at the top of the table.

    Team id like to see

Lloris, Walker, Dawson, Vertz, Benny, Parker, Dembele, Bale, Holtby, Lennon, Ade

To be honest i think that he might go with Dempsey up top with holtby playing off him and I dont think that would be a bad shout. To me demspey is getting better for us every game

I don't think it's a pressure thing. Spurs are now viewed as a top team and most teams coming to the Lane do so with the intention of not conceding a goal, rather than trying to score one. Look at the Utd match - they had 4 shots on goal and only 1 on target, their lowest in the league some time. Not many teams come to play ball!

If Newcastle come to the Lane to play, it'll be a very interesting game. If Pardew fancies his chances and lines up with an attacking team, he runs the risk of being caught out. Oddly enough, I think Newcastle will have a better chance of getting a result by keeping things tidy and trying to stifle Spurs. They have enough skilful players to do damage and if they frustrate the home team for long enough, the crowd will get restless and nerves will start to settle in.

I agree with everything you said there except for the Dempsey getting better part!! I still don't see it and it's frustrating the hell out of me. Yes he has scored some extremely important goals but the difference when Holtby has come on of late has been huge. He's so much more creative. I'd like to see your starting line up and if Ade gets tired, bring Dempsey on up front.

I've a 5er on a Spurs win and Gareth to score wincast. I'd really love the win here not least because Pardew is a smug fúcker.

Anybody fancy taking a guess on the likely team? Here's my shout:-

    Lloris
    Walker Dawson Vertonghen BAE
    Lennon Parker Dembele Bale
    Holtby
    Dempsey

With Ade making an appearance later in the game.

    Lloris
    Gallas Dawson Vertonghen BAE
    Lennon Holtby Dembele Bale
    Siggy
    Adebayor

The above is an experimental side I might put out were I the manager ;) Thought Gallas looked very sharp in at right back last week and Walker is a feckin liability. Parker has also been very poor; seems to be playing a different sort of game to the way he used to. He's not getting the nittygritty tackles and is instead attempting more complex passes which aren't coming off. He probably just needs game time tbf!

Also I think there is more to come from Siggy!

    Also...

Predicted Newcastle line-up: Krul; Debuchy, Taylor, Coloccini, Santon; Perch, Cabaye; Gouffran, Sissoko, Guttierez; Cisse.

Definitely a different proposition than meeting them prior to the Jan transfer window! :pac:

Im not talking about goals though. To be honest he was really poor against united despite the goal. I just think his workrate, hold up play and quality of passing is improving steadily(barring the united game)
