Any highlights? How did Barnes play?

The full game will surely be on TG4 real player.

Barnes, did what could do but never really got the opportunity shine either. He's caught between a rock and a hard place now, as he started out as a centre, got picked at wing and hasn't really stamped his authority on the position. I hope a run of games over the 6 nations window for him could help him lift his game.

He's out of contract alright: http://dolphinrfc.com/rugby/barnes-signs-contract-extension/

I'd like Munster to keep him, but Barnes is probably better off leaving for his own sake. Get some experience in the RFU championship or ProD2. A good agent would get him a decent contract.

I'd imagine he's already been told that he's not getting a new contract-same I'd say for Horan and Deasy aswell.I guess he'll have to make a decision on whether he wants to drop down a level or bow out of pro rugby and focus on a career.Dineen did look good in what I say-I guess these lads need to show something in these games when there's contracts at stake.

Just after watching this now. I was impressed with Hurley, nagle and Murphy in particular. Sheridan looked decent enough in his 15 minutes too.

Sheridan is the scrumhalf is he?Looks to have a much better pass than Duncan Williams.

Rugby at any level is almost impossible to walk away from if you're still fit and healthy.

Barnes has looked decent in spouts here and there, but as with a lot of young players, if you have such disjounted involvement and against such varying standards of opposition, it's very difficult to get into a rhythm. I didn't see the game, but sometimes decent prospects start to fade into the background more and more as they find it difficult to motivate themselves / care, as they know once the other players are back it'll be another 3 /4 /5 months holding tackle bags. It's a toxic enviornment that effects a lot of young players at all the provinces.

I think Barnes would do well to go to a high flying Championship side in England and work his way up. I don't think he'll break into any top team senior side any time soon, he'll have to do it the hard way, like Downey and many others.

    Ya. Looks plenty physical too.

Must say dineen looked very lively too. Strong carrier and fast too.

A few good tackles too, especially one late in the 2nd half, massive hit and great technique.

Yeah, i'd have loved him to kick on from the year he had 2 years ago.

Having played with him in Tralee, it would have been nice to see a guy like him make it big.

But for his own development, it might be better that he look for work elsewhere.

He's behind Earls, Laulala, and Dineen now for a Center spot, and he doens't cut it on the wing.
Maybe he could follow Ultan to Connacht for 2 seasons. Danny has a serious eye for the tryline, just needs some proper bloody gametime & a little more muscle. Could be a good HC player if that happened

Didn't really get into the game much, quiet performance I'd say

Anyone know why Fishooks closed this account?

I think he got fed up with the trolling. Pity really because he seemed even handed in his posts, didn't always agree with his view but I respected it.

There's an ignore function for a reason!

I wish they would change the ignore system. I've tried to ignore people, but the curiosity always get's the best of me.

Fishooks13 seemed a little crankier than Fishooks12 though. :pac: I wonder what the 14th iteration will be like.

This is a pretender! The real return of fishooks has been altogether more subtle ;)

    Something smells fishy.

You both recently posted on a UL thread.....
Perhaps Fishooks was never one person, but a consortium of Limerick students.

Fishooks is more of an idea than a person.

trouttrout is trying to drag my name through the mud for no reason that I know of. Please refrain from doing this. I don't know who you are and I don't know why you're trying to discredit me. I've been posting on this forum for a long time now and I would appreciate it if you stopped this farcical charade.

I am a student in Limerick and you can see from the posting of my previous accounts (fishooks12 and 13) you will know that I've been active on the UL board for a number of years. This trouttrout character could well be one of the trolls that populate that board.

I've a clear indication on who's who. I'll come back with the results once confirmed. :)
