If I'm not fluent after their course do I get my money back?

It's still too risky of a purchase, the learning style might not suit you at all and then you're €125 out of pocket. I made that mistake 6 or 7 years ago when I wanted to learn Korean. Not only was I not suited to the way RS teach, but for Korean it was a terrible course. They don't teach you basic grammar or explain sentence structure. I bought 3 books (cost around €40 in total) and used the internet to learn the language after that.

I wanted to give it another chance so I ... acquired a copy of Arabic... but my experience with the teaching style for Arabic was the same. For languages that do not use the latin script, it is certainly not a program that you could start up knowing absolutely nothing and hope to learn. So do not buy this for Mandarin which is part of the offer!

Pimsleur is another option, and is a bit cheaper. It is audio based and I have heard/read good things about it.

Good luck learning a new language. It is a very rewarding experience!
