Is there anywhere in Sligo town centre that serves craft beer or foreign beer. Im down here for the weekend and would prefer not to drink the normal stuff.

McGarrigles on O'Connell Street would be you're best bet. Possibly Swagman on Wine Street too.

    The Swagman, Wine street

Galway Hooker PA on draught = 4.20

Fuller's organic HoneyDew lager, currently on tap, though that tap had Proper Job a few weeks ago.

    Proper Job was lovely.

They also have a range of bottles, including O'Hara's Leann Follain, pure beauty. Good value at 5.00.

Also, Power's whiskey for 3.00, great value.

    Furey's pub on Bridge street

Draught weiss bier, I think it's Erdinger, or is it Paulaner, not sure = 5.00

Range of bottles - weiss beers, Budvar, etc.

I think they may have some beers from NI, e.g. Clothworthy Dobbin.

The most choice in terms of foreign beers is Foley's pub, on the corner of Castle and Teeling streets.

The reason is that you can have any beer that they sell in their off-licence.

Example: Adnam's Innovation, lovely beer, just ask for it, and they go next door into the off-licence and get it for you.

Huge range in offo means huge range in the pub.

    Swagman update - draught

Galway Hooker pale ale = 4.20

    Fuller's HoneyDew organic lager

    Heidelberger lager

I hear that Proper Job is coming back.

NEW - The Swagman have their own beer, brewed to their recipe, it's called Shtuff (I may have misspelt that)

Had a few pints in Foleys when was up there a few weeks ago with family - did not realise though that you could get the off-licence beers in the pub though?

    Good pub - Brgds Johnny

Yes, you can. Some of the more popular ones are on the pub shelves.

But they will go through to the shop to get any beer you like.

Now the price won't be the same, of course.

    UPDATE

The Swagman now has Brutal IPA on draught.

It's made by Rogue brewery in Newport, Oregon, USA.

Brutal IPA gets very good scores on beer review websites.

    RateBeer gives it a 98:

    BeerAdvocate gives it a 90:
    http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/132/361

    It's good value at 4.50.
