Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What's the German ship doing over here? It's a long way from the German coast that they're meant to be guarding!

Same German vessel currently zig zagging around Kenmare bay.

Most likely sheltering from the gales that are southerly at the moment.

It is not fishery protection its a German Coastguard ship, read what is on the side of the ship "kustenwache" which translates to Coastguard.

It has been acting as a fishery protection vessel, there are Irish fishery officers on board and they been checking fishing vessels. It is part of a new agreement that will see any country that is part of it with access to irish waters for their navy and visa versa

Read the side of the wheelhouse, it has a big sign: Fischerieschutz which translates as Fisheries Protection.
Joint deployments are happening a lot now, both with SFPA officers and EU fisheries personnel on board these vessels.
Its not only here its all EU waters.

Icelandic FPVs were doing the same off cyprus a few years back. The only condition is they must be disarmed while doing the duty. (The ship, not the crew).
