EDIT: DOG HAS NOW BEEN RE-UNITED WITH HIS FAMILY - THANKS ALL FOR THE HELP : )

Found this Yorkshire Terrier (cross possibly) wandering just off Western Distributor Road, Knocknacarra, beside Pure Skill around 4pm.

He's male and has a light blue collar.

We walked him around the whole area for hours but nobody recognised him.

Anybody know anyone one missing one?

    Poor thing. Some things you can do;

Get him scanned for a chip at the vets on Monday
    contact Galway Bay FM
contact the three galway rescues all are on Facebook EGAR MADRA & GSPCA
post on the lost and found thread on boards
have a look on lostandfoundpets website for a matching missing dog

There's another 'dog found' thread below this and someone mentioned that there was an ad on Galway Bay FM looking for a lost dog-same dog??

DON'T give him to the pound. Let them know where he is but if you need to send him somewhere contact Madra etc.

Edit: looks like there could be a result between the two dog threads.

    Thanks folks.

We won't give him to the pound.

He stayed with us last night.

We've already put him up on Boards, Facebook, Madra, GSPCA. Put "dog found" notices in all the local shops, and walked him for hours around estates around Knocknacarra.

For some reason the posts on Madra and GSPCA Facebook feed don't appear on the main page, just under "posts by others". So maybe people aren't seeing it?

Also can't find a contact email address for EGAR, anybody have one?

EDIT: Also called into Salthill Gardai and left description/contact details with them.

See Contact on www.egar.org, it says webmaster but it's probably right.

Thanks biko, but I've clicked on that and nothing comes up. Can't see an email address on it.

It's a mailto link, rightclick and choose copy link address.

I think EGAR is on Boards. Somebody from them used to post here a couple of years ago anyway.

I emailed them the details to the correct address and it came back as "failed to deliver".

The correct website for EGAR is www.egar.ie email address is <snip, pls read the charter. Just PM the address to OP /biko>

    FB link: https://www.facebook.com/EGAR.ie?fref=ts

you need to ask the rescues to repost and all their followers will see it then.

    Persistence pays off......

His owners have been found, he did a runner from Asca Beag up in Mincloon on Saturday.

So he's back now with his family : )
