The Trampz are a 7-piece funk and soul outfit from Ireland. With a revivalist approach to funk/soul that has its roots in music of the 60s and 70s, The Trampz fuse superb musicianship with ball bouncingly funny lyrics to create one hell of a funky, feel-good show. The tight-knit bass, drums and guitar section is complemented by percussion, organs/keys and The Raging Horns brass section; all of which is commanded by the slightly manic/always entertaining frontman, Kevin Johnston.

"There is a strong comedic element to their live shows and they believe in putting a smile on faces as much as a groove in the step" Irish Daily Mail

"They might not play often but when they do, they’re entertaining, energetic and at times out-right hilarious, with a packed tent (and then some) dancing to their funky sax, clarinet and bongo beats." STATE.ie

"The Trampz on the main stage were hitting all the right buttons" GoldenPlec

"The festival got under way on Friday evening with in-die rockers Ham Sandwich headlining as well as the Trampz taking to the main stage too. After impressing on the Lock up stage in previous years, The Trampz made the leap to the festivals main stage and have surely cemented their reputation as one of the country's most interesting and entertaining performers. The second performance of the weekend on the Lock-Up stage saw crowds happy to gather and dance withing ear-shot of the much esteemed funk fueled eight-piece." Dundalk Leader

"Enter the Trampz. The funk soul brothers wasted no time and had the beach heavin in no time. Darkness fell as the lads blasted out an original set of their best known tunes to rapturous applause. Kevin was on fiee and had the huge crowds eating out of his hand. The pubs emtied as people swarmed in from everywhere to hear the band." The Argus
