I completed my Fetac 5 in Healthcare late last year. Unfortunately, I have been unable to secure work. I do voluntary work with the Alzheimer’s Association.
I was thinking of placing an add in the local newspapers seeking work as I have tried all the nursing homes and registered with agencies.
I 'm just wondering what insurance cover would I need to work in a persons home! Any advice would be appreciated!

I'm not sure that you are actually the one who would need insurance, it may be the responsibility of the homeowner who probably has public liability included in their home insurance. Of course, I could be talking through my hat but from personal experience that I can't go into here, a carer working in another person's home can claim against the homeowner and/or their insurance. I would talk to an insurance broker if I were you, a quick chat shouldn't cost you anything. Good luck and I think advertising yourself is certainly worth a shot.
