FYI for those who might not have seen it on their own emails.
    Dear Applicant,
    This is an automated email.
This email is being sent to all those who applied to CAO by the normal closing date of Feb 1st at 17:15.

We encourage you to log on to your CAO account (go to www.cao.ie and click on ‘My Application’) and check that all of the information on your account is correct and complete.

Please read the 2013 Handbook carefully – the Handbook is available on the CAO website.

There are particular sections of the application form that must be complete and correct no later than March 1st at 17:15.

    1. Correction of errors or omissions in course choices (this facility will close on March 1st at 17:15):
    a. If you have omitted any restricted courses you now have an opportunity to introduce these courses.
    b. If you are a restricted category of applicant (e.g. mature) you must ensure your course choices are correct and complete at this time.
    2. Applications for supplementary entry schemes for applicants with disabilities and from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, e.g. HEAR and DARE.
If you wish to be considered for these schemes you must complete the appropriate sections of the CAO application form no later than 17:15 on March 1st.
Supporting documentation must arrive in CAO no later than April 1st at 17:15.
See www.accesscollege.ie, the CAO Handbook and the CAO website for details.
Instructions for submitting a HEAR or DARE application may be found in the ‘My Application’ facility on the CAO website.

    3. If you wish to apply for a grant, you may indicate this on your CAO online application. CAO will then provide your Identification, Contact and Offer/Acceptance details to the grant authority (SUSI).

    4. You should ensure that you will meet the minimum entry requirements of the courses you are applying for. The Higher Education Institution websites and prospectuses have details of these.

There may be some concessions such as exemption from minimum age requirements, Irish language and other language requirements etc. You should contact the relevant Admissions Office and/or the NUI (www.nui.ie) for information on applying for exemptions.
We will send a statement of application record to all applicants in May. You must check the statement carefully and contact us if anything is incorrect or amiss.

    Thank you,

    CAO Information Service

On the subject of the fee grant, is it particularly advantageous to lodge your details with CAO, or is logging them in with SUSI in June the same thing?

For those New Applicants for the 2013/2014 Student Grant Scheme – you can assist with your Application process by indicating on the CAO online application to share your Course Offer / Acceptance details?

All you need to do is tick the box at the end of your online CAO Application form. If you opt into this, by ticking the box, the CAO can share you information with SuSi.
