People on boards.ie really need to get over their fear of black people.

    So do old hippies.

You make so many generalizations on this forum, and dish out veiled insults to others for being part of a collective which you dislike to a certain degree, for your own reasons... & yet without a single hint of irony.

Nothing ironic in putting down narrow minded folks, whatsoever.

There kind of is if you're stretching it to include entire groups.

"people on boards.ie need to get over their fear of black people.."

"people in Africa need to stop setting fire to one anther"

...and so on until we all suffer catastrophic aneurisms.

It is very ironic, wasn't it only a few hundred years ago African people were
in slaved because they were thought as narrow minded folk.

And also people who try to rid the world of racism, look for more ways to find
    it.

So objectivity has to be subjective now?

I sat in a classroom where one German academic and an Austrian academic were reporting on trends within the Black American community. Specifically, their research was on school age Black children, their family participation, and their views on education. Their samples focused on a group of Black children during the 1960s and their second sample was a group of Black children, living in the 90s. Their research showed that there was a huge drop in children's opinions on education and that there was a decrease in family participation. They couldn't understand why there would be a decrease in family participation and lower opinions on education within the same community.

Watch mr foxx's speech at m jacksons funeral. He is a racist, but thats ok, his great grandad might have been a slave, or profited from them.

People on boards is not an entire demographic. It refers to the same old suspects who crop up again and again on any thread related to race or racism.

Not everyone on boards is as challenged as a few vocal stirrers with their dubious agenda.

Bit of a generalization there.I don't remember seeing too many black dancers in Riverdance:D.If Jamie Foxx and co are so anti white, why do they continue to use their slave names? ( ie names given to their ancestors by their white owners)

Ok, in general, black people are better dancers

So in general it comes down to black people, and gay white people to see who are better dancers?

The dancing thing is entirely cultural. Look at top of the pops type shows from the 60's. The white dancers in the audience look in need of medical attention for St Vitus dance (and the black folks aint much better). Today the whites would be significantly better at dancing. Same population, better dancers.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

What am i missing here? I have no idea what your point is.
    Segregation of schools maybe?

I didnt include my point because I was wanting to highlight that objectivity has a place but without context, simple statements lack foundation.

To address their problem, you are correct. The academics failed to put the time and location into context. The 60s kids were from the South and the 90s kids were from the north. They assumed it was due differences between north v south values, and they failed to consider that 60s kids were living in the height of the Civil Rights movement.

So an actor made a joke in an SNL skit and expressed the opinion that black people are the most talented people in the world. Big fcuking deal. People are so sensitive about non-issues really.

I don't know why people are calling foxx racist.
Don't they know only white people are racist.

**** it, they were beaten, enslaved and oppressed for over 200 years. I think they're entitled to be a little bit racist :P

For some reason I bet if you used the same argument about Jews and Israel you would get a sh** storm around here.

FFS jimmy saville or jonathan king were probably hovering in the background and who would want to draw attention to themselves.

Anyone with a bit of cop on probably danced with their cheeks firmly clenched and I don't mean their faces. ;)

I am not allowed discuss …

In fairness, that's because people would be pointing out that the history of the Jewish people is not an excuse for the often very harmful (to the point of death) actions of the Israeli state, in contrast to the fairly harmless words of half-decent Hollywood actor. You can bet that if, for example, an African country with a predominantly black population were killing white people (and you can find such examples in Zimbabwe, for example), people here wouldn't excuse the actions of such a government because it's comprised of black people.

Just look at how unpopular Robert Mugabe has been for a long time. I've never come across anyone on Boards defending his policies.

I wish people would stop coming out with the "only white people can be racist" line when it's been stated many times that anyone can be racist.

Well said. I've critcised the IDF and Israeli Govt in the past and have been described variously as anti-semitic, anti-Jewish and so on. I've also criticised the Mugabe regime and Zanu PF and not a peep.
