Marchisio has been so good since his return from injury. Celtic have kept Juve quiet, to their credit, but not done enough defending themselves.

Do you guys ever go to the chipper at 3am and after waiting for 5 minutes start shouting about typical Italian time wasting?

No we just watch you do it :pac:

The manhandling by juve is ridiculous, its clear as day from the tv and the ref is there watching it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,748 ✭✭✭✭AdamD

How the ref hasn't given a pen is beyond me. Complete farce really, if he gives a pen that behavior would have stopped.

How people that holding players in the box to stop them getting the ball is not a foul is beyond me

Could have sent off Ponucio or whatever his name is there again, right after being warned and booked starts hugging Brown, you really have to wonder, Juve are happy enough because a Celtic player is getting booked every time too.

Juve have been sh1te. It shows how bad Serie A has been over the past few years

...you base this on one game?

I guess the EPL is garbage then because Juve turned over the European Champions League holders 3-0 a few months back?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,224 ✭✭✭✭Marty McFly

Feeling sorry for Celtic the much better team in this game, lack of threat in the box has been there downfall.

Any of the teams left in the Champions League looking at Juventus will be fancying there chances against them.

He should have been taken off earlier, it's been obvious all game he is wrecked. Loads of little mistakes and three huge ones.

So where's the 20 minutes of time wasting so many were predicting based on Juventus being an Italian team?

Played like he's either still hungover or jet lagged. Probably both.

Error from Lennon in playing him.

Brilliant result. Textbook Italian away performance

Wtf were they doing playing Ambrose?? Lennon needs to explain this one

If Juventus have been "sh1te" in this game and they're winning 3-0 away from home then I'd like to see them play "brilliantly" in Turin !! Thy'd win by 10 or 12  :pac:

Just because they're not playing free flowing attacking football doesn't mean they're playing badly. Tactically they've looked excellent and they nailed their game plan. If united put in this performance and got this result they'd be praised to no end

Celtic can be proud of themselves. They played a good game and it's been really entertaining

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 731 ✭✭✭seriousfizz

Laughing at those of you who are dismissing all of Serie A, and Juventus in general, because of this game. Give Celtic some credit, for their pressing all over the pitch. Not for their defending, however.

Tie pretty much over, Juventus won't slip up at home.

Not his fault really. This one lies solely at Lennons feet. Ambrose cant do much.

Couldnt agree more, Im no Celtic fan but they have been the far better team tonight and are playing against a team proven of cheating there way to titles there only one team id root for.

No other team left in this competition would have missed the chances Celtic have. Juve's defending hasn't even been impressive tbh

Well, Platini was right when he said it was a bye for Juve. Lennon is to blame, no way should Ambrose be in the side, should have been hauled at half time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

Amazing playing 'crap' can create more chances. Possession is no good if you can't defend for ****e. Amazing people knocking Juventus and they winning an away knockout game 3-0. Insane. You get nothing for keeping the ball.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,570 ✭✭✭Ulysses Gaze

Neither have City, the EPL champions.

Again, does that mean that the EPL is **** because 2 or their best teams can't 'hang' with the best in Europe?

That's what happens when you play in such a poor quality domestic league. Make those mistakes in the SPL and you stand a fair chance of getting away with at least one of them. It is a truly poor standard of football up there. Therefore players get lazy and develop bad habits that are hard to get away from.

Hopefully Juve get a 4th. Buffon is so calm under the high cross and bouncing shot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,391 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

I'd say considering they could have easily been down to 10 and had a penalty given against them Juve have really gotten away with it.

You can only play what's put in front of you. 3-0 in the champions league last 16 away from home is a fantastic result regardless of who you're playing.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,805 ✭✭✭Lennonist

Fck that's that as they say. Been a great run in the CL this season. Just got to make sure Celtic maintain a regular spot in the CL Group stages for the foreseeable future. Tonight was bonus territory.

I think Lenny made an error playing Ambrose just after coming back from Afrika, he had options there, took the wrong one.

Overall it was Lennon's fault for playing him but they were still Ambrose's mistakes.

Goes to show that for all of Celtics domination, whenever the ball has come his way he has been so composed and under no pressure. Prob would have saved the penos Celtic should have had.

Lennon's gamble has back fired spectacularly. Ambrose should have been on the bench at the most

I think Juve could have stepped it up, though - 0-3 away and they never got out of 2nd gear.
