Morning all, I have a large box of collectables, ranging from plates to a tea set bought from Brown Thomas in the 40s also some jugs etc. I have had them in the attic for the last 12 years and decided to sell them. From my grandmothers house. Looking for advise on how to get the best price for them, should I sell them as a lot, bring them to an auction rooms or go the route of antiques dealer.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Dave

You'll get next to nothing from a dealer and you should get your local auctioneer to cast an eye over your items. There's usually no charge especially if you lead them to believe that they may get the sale of them. :)

Herman & Wilkinson, Rathmines might be a good one to try as they hold regular sales of those type of items. :)

Unless you've got some 16th centuiry delftware or something similar you're unlikely to get much money for them.

Try an auction house if you like but you'd be as well trying to identify your stuff online and see if it has any potential value.
