The offer's still on 'til Feb 28th

Microsoft aren't checking details of Win 7 purchase, so be 'creative' when filling the form.

Hey guys. I just got my key. I'm not in my house atm so I can't try and install but I would like to ask, can I just download any windows 8 pro installer then use this key? What's the story with the media centre? I've no notion of what the problem is about that so can anyone fill me in? Thanks a lot.

You can install it whenever. No time limit.

Just to answer my own question - I picked up a copy at Argos and there are two DVDs included. One for 32bit and one for 64bit. There's only one key code so not sure if I can install it on two machines.

Before you buy, see my comments on the Bargain Alerts thread on this. I got a refund, uninstalled, & went back to Win7. Could be happier to see the back of it.

Win8 is AWFUL for PC/laptop - its designed for touchscreens/tablets.

Don't take my word for it.

Either google Windows 8 problems, or read this

    You have been warned.

I actually didn't go through with my install. It just seems like there would be tooooo much trouble if I went through. Been reading a lot of negatives about it online. How could I get my refund if it's possible?

"admitting that many users had struggled to master the new operating system. “The learning curve is definitely real,” she said."

Lighter, faster, more efficient, more secure, runs cooler and uses less resources.

Shame the masses can't grasp it....
