    Hi Everyone,
im just wondering if anyone knows if its cheaper to get plans drawn up for just a shed? Shed would be 50ft x 40ft just open plan but because its going to be used for commercial use we have to get planning.
Have already got plans for our house and smaller shed so just wondering about cost again.
    Thank you

Your question doesn't really make any sense, cheaper to get plans drawn up or what?

If the shed is for commercial use you will need planning permission as you state, but you will also need a fire safety certificate and a disabled access certificate.

LA fees alone for the above amount to over €2K, then you will have the application fees for each probably another €2K. If the applications are successful there will be contribution payments to make and then down the road likely rates as well.

I'm not trying to put you off, just making you aware of the processes and costs. That's why most towns now have starter commercial units available where all of the above are already taken care of in the rental. Your local enterprise centre should have details.
