Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

And if it gave him an advantage over his competitors then it's certain those companies let people go or were unable to hire more.

If the OP started a thread about Seanie Fitzpatrick the thread would melt down in anger.

He never assualted anyone, not that I know of.
    Decent chap, family man......

I think the Garlic Man could more properly be compared to the Mullingar Man. They were both very similar in the amount of deliberation used to defraud the state and the amount of time the fraud continued. The Garlic Man got away with much more money than the Mullingar Man. But the Mullingar Man got 12 years, time for him to get on to his lawyers I think.

A businessman jailed over a multi-million euro import duty scam on garlic has been granted temporary release from prison.

Paul Begley, of Begley Brothers Ltd in Dublin, was initially jailed for six years for labelling more than 1000 tonnes of imported garlic as apples which have a lower rate of duty.

The sentence was reduced to six months on appeal.

The Irish prisons service has confirmed that Mr Begley was released from Mountjoy jail this afternoon on a "community return scheme" which will see him engage in supervised community service.
