So Madigan's taking the kicks... saw a quote from Jonno Gibbes which suggested McFadden might be given the duty. Really need to give Madigan as much practice as possible until the end of the season to see how reliable he can be.

Should have been a fourth try now. We are totally dominating.

Cronin with try of the season. This is ****ing class.

I'd say most English club fans have to deal with this as well. As do Connacht supporters.

Have you counted the number of stars on the jersey? S4C should be paying us to show this game.

Are the backs getting any ball? Sounds like we've earned the right to go wide.

I'm sitting beside him. Could you ban him for whining about the cold at every game.

The backs doing fine, mad and futz going very well. But treviso haven't shown up tbf.

Brad Thorn is an outlier who is listed at 6ft5, again show me a second row who is 6ft3. Making a comparison between Ruddock and Thorn is ridiculous.

I guess its just a coincidence that almost every lock playing pro rugby is 6ft5+ plus.

    Mick Galway - 6ft 4
    Mike McCarthy - 6ft 4

There's more around. I think he is slightly on the small side. but not prohibitively so. average lock afaik is about 6'6 so only 3 inches and the benefits he'd bring.

Agree, but with Fitz, EOM, D Kearney and McFadden in the backline you'd expect some tries from there too. No need to be greedy :)

sure why even bother with tall locks lets play two blindside flankers in there and have a more mobile team.

Rhys Ruddock is not a second row and never will be for Leinster barring some sort of injury crisis because he is 6ft3. And at the very least you need to be pushing 6ft5 if not taller to be an international level second row. There is always exceptions to the rule but come on.

    Knock on again and HT.

    very easy Bp.

Have to say, Andrew Goodman having a blinder. Breaking the line and putting people away. My best player thus far.

I thought you'd win big but I never expected a BP in the first half ffs.

    Serious hyperbole. Don't worry.

    No changes at interval.

    Why would s4c broadcast Leinster-Treviso?

I think the point he's making is that S4C are showing the game, and in English, whilst there's no coverage of the Leinster game, so RTE decide to pack up the cameras, drive down to Limerick and be the second broadcaster of the Munster game whilst Leinster remain in blackout.

Of this period of matches, iirc Leinster have 1 of 4 games live on TV (anywhere - so 3 games are not televised at all), Munster have 3 or 4 from 4 televised live, Ulster have 4 from 4 live and Connacht have 3 from 4 live on TV...seems strange.

It does seem weird to double broadcast games though instead of trying to collaborate and have all games televised.

Regardless, it's a mess and I hope it gets sorted out soon. Really detracts from the league when a good chunk of the games aren't televised and of those that are, half of them are in a language that about 1% of supporters of the league understand. :/ Coupled with the fact that of the coverage I can understand, the quality is terrible. Setanta were much better than RTE.

Cos then your lineout would definitely suffer.

Where's this rule you speak of written? show me the rule. see we can all do hyperbole.

if height is so important to you, how come toner is not the best in the world?

ideally you'd have massive ****ers in there who are athletic, but he has all the abilities to be good there. worth a look, which is all the poster said. take a chill pill. you remind me of another opinionated fan on tv who claimed bowe wouldn't ever be good at international level.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,958 ✭✭✭✭RuggieBear

whatever about bitching about the games not being televised... (I'm v guilty of that...but lets not derail the thread further)...do not bring the old language chestnut into this please.
    back on topic....i.e. rugby

From a Leinster (and indeed Ulster) point of view, if Scarlets can do a number on Munster tonight, that top 3 batch just pulls a little cushion away from the chasing pack, which would be a nice position to be in, it would also increase the likelyhood of either Munster or Ospreys missing out on the play-offs, and seeing as those are the 2 teams that have denied Leinster in the last 3 finals, can't say I'd be too upset about it!

We're fortunate to have the BBC tbh. Gives us a big advantage as BBCNI really only has 1 game they can show that their viewers will want to see.
