Wanna watch the game on TV before giving a good opinion of the game. But two things that stood out were:

    1. Our chase kick and our garryowens are very poor. A lack of communication between Parks and the chasers seems to be the issue.

    2. Tonetti was my MOTM. He was everywhere and considering it was only his second game this season, I was very impressed. Faloon was excellent to so no qualms really.

    3. Griffin is a rock in defence and Poolman has proved to be an excellent acquisition
What is Griffin's attacking play like. It's a pity he seems injury prone. Good size partnership with himself and McSharry!

Connacht have the makings of a very useful side if only they were a bit more consistent. I know it was an understrength Osperys tonight but they still won up at Ulster last weekend.

Agreed in all points. Great to see Gavin back and he did well when he came on. Henshaw had a very good game. Faloon and Muldoon were simply outstanding as was Mckeon. But as said Dan's kicking wasn't great. In games past we have been killed for giving away possession so easily. This time we got away with it. Great win.

That spear tackle in the first half was shocking especially since it happened right in front of the TJ and he did nothing. Don't believe for a second he didn't see it, his reaction afterwards says to me he saw but didn't have the courage to make the call.

We played well, although the kicking was aimless at times. The "dreadful" Henshaw had another good game, that hit at the end was perfect.

Duffy showed what he had to offer last night, that little run then kick move down the clan side touch was lovely.

Mentioned above but for me also Tonetti was my MOTM, great to see him firing again so soon after to coming back, Griffin was quiet in attack but huge in defence, your not going to get change out of the Connacht centres it seems.

Faloon had a stormer, we have really missed him during his injury, becoming a key part of the team very quickly

As I've seen mentioned somewhere, the lad could play in the back row. He is a brute of a young lad.

Obviously, there are areas of his game that need improving, chiefly his kicking and vision when in possession imo. But that will come with experience.

I'm just thrilled we have a player of his quality, an academy graduate, a native Connacht lad, who looks like he could go all the way to the top.

    Athlone is in Connacht?

    In rugby terms, yes

Buccaneers Rugby Club and Marist College are in Connacht. Therefore a native lad

And half of Athlone is Roscommon but it is run by Westmeath IIRC (open to correction).

    Great result last night Connacht!

(Part of Athlone is in Roscommon -> Connacht....but I'm pretty sure Henshaw is from the Leinster side....pretty insignificant argument though.....The Marist and Buccs are on the Leinster side too....)

Athlone is an anomaly. Whilst a section of the town is on the Roscommon side of the border, the town itself and urban area is, entirely, officially part of Westmeath.

Buccs and Marist are both in Leinster but fall under the Connacht branches demise.

It doesn't matter a jot. Henshaw is Connacht man.

Sorry that's what I meant by in Connacht, under our branch
