Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What skin type do you have?

I've oily skin and use La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo for spots. It's good, I wouldn't call it a miracle product for my skin type (sadly hormones and genetics mean that I'll have bad skin for at least another 2 years) but lots of people with varying skin types love it (hence the reason why it was out of stock in just about every Boots store when they started the "2 for 20 euro" deal on the Effaclar range).

It's pretty decent at reducing spot size and healing time. It's cut my cystic acne healing time from 3 weeks to 1 week. I don't find it too irritating either, but some online reviewers can only use it twice a week, whereas I (and others) use it almost nightly.

For oily spots I find the Witchhazel Blemish Stick quite good. It's about 3.50 in Boots and it's shaped a bit like a lipstick - you rub it on your spot (I'd use a clean finger each time rather than the stick directly though to keep it from spreading). It's not gonna stop your spots coming up, but if you've any bad ones it's great for killing them off within a couple of hours. Handy to have if you're like me and liable to get one really bad spot the day before a night out or something!

I use Origins Super spot Remover Blemish gel, it is a bit pricey (€17) but is never ending and works miracles for me!

I put tea tree cream on my spots. It's very good.

I use an over-the-counter cream called Quinoderm 5; it dries the spots out nicely. You might want to use it over a moisturiser though.
