You can use any browser with Sky. No one standard browser.

Am not at home.. but wonder if it's related to DNS?

Try changing your DNS to OpenDNS..

    OpenDNS.gif

Nice one! :), I should have thought of it earlier, I changed network settings to OpenDNS

    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220

and left the rest set to obtain an address automatically and one of the websites which was not showing up is now working and I am convinced the other website is just down!

So I wonder are they doing some sort of DNS filtering?

For those whom I have PM'd I actually rang Sky and told them about the blocked website and the reaction of the indian call centre guy was priceless!

There was a glowing box on my doorstep today. I opened it up and what I found inside was utterly amazing! So anyway see you later.

I use OpenDNS for everything to be honest..

.. if only you could change it on the bloody router.

I'm half tempted to ditch the Sky Hub and throw back in my Netopia.

That's for sites blocked on your end, not by the ISP.

Ah, yes, I should have read the text above the image instead of jumping the gun.

For a while, a proxy accessed a certain forum, but now it can't even get me on. Any tips?

I don't like the way invalid domains redirect to a search page. I'd much prefer that they'd err out, at least the browser wouldn't remember it then.

How do I change to open dns?

Three of the websites are now blocked on both Eircom and Sky but are accessible from Vodafone broadband. It looks like there is a block being put in place it looks like as what are the odds of three similar websites going down simultaneously?

I'm on OpenDNS which got me back onto one of the websites earlier but it had since gone offline/been blocked again.

I've posted previously re Sky's T&Cs which allow them to block at will:

"May be relevant to some users as well that they reserve the right to block any websites that THEY "reasonably suspect" to "facilitate behaviour" in violation of their usage policy, including copyright violations. As such, I imagine they could potentially block torrent sites, etc, even if not ordered to do so by a court."

I must be a bit naive here but I have no idea what websites everyone is talking about.

I'm thinking of moving to Sky myself in the coming months.

Can someone pm me too please and let me know what sites I will/won't be able to access?
