'Where is the Alternative' with Screenreader & Paradox @ The Crane Lane in Cork.

Cork based Alternative Rock/Grunge band Paradox team up with fellow Alternative Cork Rockers 'Screenreader' for a collaboration night at the Crane Lane Theatre in cork on Wednesday March 13th 2013.

SCREENREADER

Cork band Screenreader came into being with the release of their debut album "Disconnect the Dots" in January 2012. Burning a trail from start to finish with mechanical samples, high-impact dynamics and fuzzed up electronic textures, the album has received high praise from critics as well as a quickly growing fan base, resulting in consistent national radio airplay from the likes of 2fm's Dave Fanning and Dan Hegarty, along with airplay from regional and local radio stations.The band also played a slot at the Indiependence festival in 2012.

2013 has seen Screenreader record a live session for 2FM as well as hitting the road to play live as often as possible. The band will also be following up their 2012 debut album with further recordings in the coming year to capture what they've discovered about themselves as a band while working hard to win over audiences in a live environment.

PARADOX

Paradox are an Alternative Rock/Grunge Outfit hailing from Cork whose music has gathered rave reviews on both sides of the Atlantic for its unique diverse blend of melodic vocals, driven by cutting edge riffs. Formed in 1996 by brothers Pete Mac and Mike Mac the early Paradox sound was heavily influenced by the Grunge Era of the 90's. The band shaped much of their music around many vocal harmonies layered on top of power chord riffs. Paradox have released 3 studio albums to date. Their debut album 'Circle of Growth' was recorded on a US indie label in 2000, their second album 'Sacred' was recorded and released in 2004 and their latest album 'Corporate Pollution' was recorded in 2010. Singer Pete Mac also recorded and released a solo album titled 'In Limbo' in 2009. 2012 saw Paradox playing support to Therapy? in Cork as well as the making of an official music video for their latest single 'Mr. Bureaucracy'.
