Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    29

    4 to make the pitch.
    1 for the Halfway line.
    12 for the penalty areas.

Then the 12 lines to make the three technical area's, Team A, Team B and 4th official?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,888 ✭✭✭Charisteas

Ah forgot to count the line going through the middle, 25?

That is 4 around the edge, 3 around each penalty box, 3 around each 6 yard box, and 8 small lines to mark nearest distance that opponent can stand when taking a corner.

Not to be pedantic, but they are optional.
(Actually maybe it is pedantic, but hey..... :) )

Great thread. Can I jump on board with this one:

    Sunderland did it in '79,
    Villa did it in '81,

but who did (what) in '80?

Preston NE in 1888-89 (always useful to know when an Arsenal fan talks about their undefeated season :pac: )

    Here's another question :

Q: Which player scored a goal for his club in a major English Cup final that became the only goal he ever scored for the club?

is it the guy who probably saved Fergie's united career in '90

    EDIT: that's him named above

Ryan Bertrand - scored for Chelsea in this seasons Community Shield and I don't think he has scored since seeing as he's a second choice left back.

    Good man...

Steve Morrow for arsenal in the league cup final '93

Nope , not Man U's Lee Martin (either of Man Utd Lee Martin's :D)

Not Bertrand. It's not a Charity Shield/Community Shield game, so you can rule them all out.

Good guess but not Morrow either.
    Charisteas wrote: »

I bet if Adam's had imagined Morrow was a pint glass he wouldn't have dropped him. :pac:

Anyway, while you're all pondering the answer have a look at this that I was just reminded of.

Des Walker for Forest I think? I seem to remember a Forest supporting frined of mine telling me he scored his only goal in the Cup Final vs Spurs, the one where Gazza bolloxed himself up before going to Lazio.

You're right in one regard. Notts Forest Des Walker did score a rare goal in the FA Cup final. (unfortunately he scored it for Spurs :pac:)

(so not Des Walker) (not Martin, Bertrand, Morrow or Walker so far)
