Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Going to go with Mark Lawrenson. I know he played for Preston and Bobby managed them at one point. Obviously played under Jack at some point for Ireland.

Ehh did Kevin O'Callaghan play for Charlton ?

I know he was still around in 1986, but was he part of Charlton's initial squads ?

EDIT: scrub that for soem reason I thought it was Bobby Robson not Charlton.
    Must take me pills.
    :o

I am not allowed discuss …

Has to be someone around awhile, I'd say Kanu or Giggs.

Kalou for Chelsea semed to play most of his games from the bench too.

Here's a question I was asked recently, I'll put it to you folks to get another week of dossing at work underway.

EIGHT players with a surname beginning with D have scored over 50 Premier League goals - Name them.

    *I only have seven !

Um, I'll start with Dion Dublin because he seems to frequently be the 'forgotten man' in these goalscoring questions

Dublin, Defoe and Drogba would be three anyway.

    Drogba
    Defoe
    Dublin

    Let me have a think

    Correct.

He was however very frequently remembered in the 'Longest in the shower' questions.

So....I didnt have Dempsey, and he looks to be right so that brings me to 8 :)

Drogba, Defoe, Dublin, Davies, DiCanio, Dempsey.

I have two more and the site I'm looking at says they have over the 50 mark.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,152 ✭✭✭Idu

    Duff
    Deane
    Dowie

I was being a bit blind scanning through the list and the C in di Canio was capitalised so threw me off.

Ronaldo won the CWC with Barca. And won the CL with Milan, and the UEFA with Inter, I think.
No idea about runners up medals.

He never won the CL, he was cup tied in '07. I was going to guess Lothar Matthaus but I've a feeling he never won the CL either.

Vialli maybe? I'm certain he's won all three (and lost an EC). Not sure about the other two.

I was just going to guess that. Between Samp in the early 90s, Juve and Chelsea I think it could be a very good shout.

Here's another one for the time being :

Q: Name the 10 players who have won the most Ireland caps as a substitute.

(hint : Steve Staunton is NOT one of the answers :pac: )

I don't think I could get the top ten but I'll chance a couple,

Tony Cascarino, Alan McLoughlin, Ray Treacy, Niall Quinn, Stephen Reid, Steve Finnan, David Connolly, Kevin Kilbane, Mark Kinsella.

Tony Cascarino, Alan McLoughlin, Niall Quinn, David Connolly are correct. The rest are incorrect.

6 of the 10 still left.
