Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No. Although looking at Regis's stats I reckon that's pretty much as close as you could come to giving a right answer ..... without actually getting it right.

Hint: I note that Regis played close to 80% of his league games for the two clubs. The mystery man has played over 90% of his league games for the two clubs in question.

Ah feck it! Just looked at Regis' stats on Wiki it says he played one game more for Coventry than for West Brom and played five times for England. You've my heart broken Roanoke.

Don't blame me, blame Cyrille. :D

Hint : He's older than Regis.

    Correct.

Unbelievably 344 league games for QPR and then followed it up with 344 league games for West Ham.

    Well done

Stick another guess in with Ali Daei (sp?) Iran.
    or Georghi Hagi?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,097 ✭✭✭roanoke

With those sort of numbers I'm guessing it's someone who played at full-back? Thuram maybe?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,977 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I can't think of his name but he was a goalkeeper for Mexico.

    Edit: Campos

Here's one. Which England player hold's the record for the earliest a player has been subbed off in a WC finals match? It's actually a joint record so if anyone gets the other one (Italian) they can have a bonus point. Both subbed off in the 4th minute.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,097 ✭✭✭roanoke

Robson? He seemed to be getting injured every five seconds.

As for the Italian, no idea either. I seem to remember some fella getting his face smashed up in a game. Nesta maybe?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 500 ✭✭✭Jarrod

Fair play on the Nesta one, I thought the England one'd go before that. Nesta was replaced by Bergomi (who was an answer earlier in the thread, I think) in the 4th minute vs. Austria at France '98. Robson is incorrect.

I haven't a clue what the answer to this is but I'll go Michael Owen going with your idea.:D

Michael Owen vs. Sweden in '06. Replaced by Peter Crouch in the 4th minute also.

Here's another. Which two players hold the record for receiving the most cards in WC finals matches? Each received 6 cards and they're not totally obscure players from the '50s or anything.

Matthaus? He played the most games of all. 6 in 25(?) seems possible.

Who's the youngest player to reach 100 caps for his country?

Pending between Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney, I think, they were both quite young when they got their first cap

No this record was held by Lucas Polodski up to a few weeks ago.

    Rooney has 81 caps
    Owen finished up on 89

Easy but try not google this one

What is the connection between a goal that Jody Morris scored for Chelsea and a goal that a guy called Branko Strupar scored for Derby a few days later ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 500 ✭✭✭Jarrod

I'm pretty sure Strupar scored the first PL goal of the new millenium so I'm going to assume that Jody Morris scored either the last goal PL goal of the last millenium or that he scored the first FA Cup goal of this millenium, given that the FA Cup third round is the first weekend in January.
