Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm pretty sure Strupar scored the first PL goal of the new millenium so I'm going to assume that Jody Morris scored either the last goal PL goal of the last millenium or that he scored the first FA Cup goal of this millenium, given that the FA Cup third round is the first weekend in January.

Right the first time, Morris scored the last goal of the 20th century.

Was 1999/2000 the year that the FA cup third round was played in December by the way ?

Well then the answer is incorrect

The 21st Century started on 1 Jan 2001 - there was no year 0, so that means the year 2000 was in the 20th century.

    1-1000
    1001-2000
    2001-3000

Using the Gregorian Calendar and starting with 1 AD then the third millennium began with the year 2001 AD.

Using the Common/Christian Era Calendar (CE) the years are numbered -1, 0, 1, etc and you begin the first millennium with the year 0 CE then the third millennium began with the year 2000 CE.

We knew what the question meant.

Who is the only player to have won their domestic title and cup, all UEFA and FIFA-recognised international club competitions plus the World Cup with their country? i.e.

    Domestic League,
    Domestic Cup,
    European Cup,
    UEFA Cup,
    Cup Winners' Cup,
    UEFA Super Cup,
    Intercontinental Cup/World Club Cup,
    World Cup.

Bit of a clue - the player in question won all the club honours with one club, over a ten year period.
And that club was in his home country.

    Yeah that's the one.
Turns out that Antonia Cabrini did it too.

    European Cup in 1985
Cup Winners' Cup UEFA Cup in 1984
    UEFA Cup in 1977
    Super Cupin 1984
    Intercontinental Cup in 1985.

All with Juventus, and WC in 82 with Italy.

Q: Which country has the current longest undefeated home run in international football in all games (qualifiers , friendlies etc)?

I'll go with the obvious and say Spain even though it's unlikely to be right

Wild guess at Australia - they play pretty woeful teams out there

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,097 ✭✭✭roanoke

Like you say, no not Spain. (also not Australia either Peppa Pig)

BTW, If a country (say Guam or Bhutan) plays its home qualifying games somewhere else then I'm still counting those as 'home games' as that was a fixture they should have facilitated.

Hint : The correct answer is not nearly as obscure as either Guam or Bhutan btw.

Edit : Just see the EPL refernce now so that can't be the case

You think 17 months unbeaten at home is the longest streak in international football?

At this rate we'll have to name every team there is! :p

I'm just gonna have a guess at Croatia

Certainly anyone who saw their 1-0 win vs Brazil in 2010 would agree with that.
