Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hint : Regarding the Prem players of this nation, only one plays with Rep.Ireland players week-to-week.

Has to be an African or Asian team.

    Cameroon?

Correct. Cameroon are undefeated at home since 1998.

Can't think of a new question right now, somebody else can ask.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 500 ✭✭✭Jarrod

Okay. Which player has won the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Charity Shield, the Championship and also two Champions Leagues?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,627 ✭✭✭Lawrence1895

Was it Didi Hamann by any chance?

Afraid not, he never won the Premier League or the Championship. Good shout though.

I can add one more trophy that this player won but feel it might be too easy. I'll give it a while and see if anyone gets it before I add a clue.

Good shout but he never won the Championship and just the one CL. I don't think he ever won the League Cup either but I'm open to correction on that.

Good guess but he never won the Championship and, as far as I know, won just the one Champions League.

Real doozy of a question - was wondering could it be Geremi?

Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup: Chelsea
Champions League: Real Madrid (Though I think he only won 1)
    Championship: Newcastle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 500 ✭✭✭Jarrod

Great shout, it is Geremi. I've double checked on Wiki (I know, it is Wiki), he won two CLs, '00 and '02.

Wiki's good enough for me (gets a bad rap in terms of reliability imo).

Forgot about Madrid winning the Champions League in 2000.

    New question:

What do Rayo Vallecano in Spain, QPR in England, Greuther Furth in Germany, Siena in Italy, and Ajaccio in France all have in common?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,888 ✭✭✭Charisteas

Geremi is also undefeated for his national team at home since 1998 :pac:

They were all promoted in 2011 and all stayed up?

That's what made me think of the question :) I remember having WC '02 Top Trumps and Geremi was rated as a serious player in them but they called him Njitap, which is apparently his last name. I remember being baffled as to who this Cameroonian world beater, Njitap, was.

Nope (at least that'snot what I'm thinking).

As in that may be true (though I think it's unlikely) but it's not the answer I'm looking for.

Smallest stadiums of all the teams in their divisions?

Least amount of time spent in the top flight (of all the teams currently in their division)?

    Yeah, 1992 final for Barca.

It wasn't the champions league for the 91/92 season

The champions league began the next season

Was always under the impression that that was the first season. Probably took 1992 as meaning that season as opposed to the start of the next. Just the 2 dutch players then.

What year did Spain last lose a world cup qualifier & who beat them?

Any football hipster will get the first bit straight away - bit of a hint

No idea what a football hipster is, but I'll guess 2005, Northern Ireland when Healy scored a hat-trick?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,097 ✭✭✭roanoke

I think it was Denmark (back in our WC94 group).

(iirc Northern Ireland was a Euro Game)

Edit : You asked what year. 1993?

there was an article written or something about football hipster's, one of the things that supposedly makes someone one is listing to the Guardian podcast,
they mention it taking the píss on the podcast from time to time.
last week on the podcast that stat about spain was mentioned

    N. Ireland weren't in spain's group for the WC '06 so it ain't them
