Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I'm afraid none of these.

Just to sum up who we have so far

Les Ferdinand, E. Heskey, Solskjaer, Kevin Campbell, Naill Quinn, Bowyer, Cahill, Agbonlahor, and Damien Duff

Should probably have mentioned, this list is from December 2012, it's possible someone has crept in in the last few months, but for arguments sake I will stick with the list I have.

Hint for the last guy, he is now retired

Cant remember Cottee scoring one, imagine he did though.

Other wild guesses would be kevin gallacher and kanchelskis

Which match saw the highest amount of different goalscorers in a single Premier League game?

How many unique goalscorers were there? (bonus point if you can somehow name all of them)

    Portsmouth 7 - 4 Reading. 9 different scorers.

I remember a match in the mid 90's between I think Blackburn and Sheffield Wed, I think it finished 7-2, not sure if it was all different scorers though. Hardly this one?

    Spurs 4-5 Arsenal.
It's an easy Wikipedia search :P - not that I know these things

Plus to be honest I'm not sure if the Portsmouth Reading game can really be counted as having 9 different scorers as one of them was an own goal.

I imagine that would only count as 8 different scorers.

The game I'm talking about had 9 different scorers, none of them were own goals.

Yup this one but I thought there was an unwritten rule to not use Wiki/Google etc.. on the Quiz Thread!

The 9 scorers were Naybet, King, Defoe, Kanouté, Henry, Lauren, Viera, Llungberg, Pires.

There were 2 unique things about the 2004/2005 relegation battle -

    What were they?

Possibly the team bottum at xmas stayed up?

or lowest points total needed to stay up?

That's one of them well done - WBA bottom at Christmas stayed up by the skin of their teeth

Hmm this appears to be correct (though I think it may have been matched since) - 34 points was, at the time, the lowest points total to survive.

However, this isn't the one I was thinking of!

    One more unique thing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,670 ✭✭✭Peppa Pig

Was that the year the three relegated teams still had a chance of safety on the last day. I remember Sky not focussing on the title so it must have been sorted on the last day

Just checked this - WBA still hold this record uniquely. Only team to have stayed up with 34 points, lowest points tally in any EPL season.

    Good answer

That's the one - I have a feeling it's happened since (2 years ago when Blackpool went down perhaps?) but this was the first season in which not a single team had been relegated going into the final day
