Correct! He had a very unusual pattern of appearances.

In 89-90 season he was Manchester United's reserve keeper, but played the FA Cup final replay.

90-91 he was 1st choice keeper and played almost a full season, but was missing for the last 5x league games, meaning his final two games that season were Cup Finals.

Then he left the club and came back in 1993-94 playing just 1 FA Cup QF and a League Cup final for a total of three cup finals in his last four games.

By air its just over 4000 miles by train 5916 miles a nice and handy away trip.

You end up near Korea having skirted Mongolia, China, and Kazakhstan to get there. You leave Europe fairly early in your journey and cross the Urals into Asia after a few hours.

BTW its not potentially the longest distance between teams in Russia as there is a Russian enclave between the three Baltic States and Poland which does not have a top flight team at the moment but if a team from this region called Kaliningrad ever got promoted the distance would even get much bigger and would involve passing through foreign nations.

I was in London the same day Parma won a Cup winners cup final in 92 or 93.

I was reading about saachi a couple of weeks back, blew my mind. If you're of a certain age you'd assume that Parma were a huge club, in the 90's they were always there or there abouts
