Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Sander westerveld?

Liverpool got rid off him pretty quickly after the 00/01 season.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,097 ✭✭✭roanoke

    Not westerveld.

    ==

Hint : Of the four finals mentioned in the original question he won two and lost two.

Les Sealey- started in the 1990 FAC Final replay then played in the CWC final in Rotterdam and made his final appearance against Villa in the 1994 League Cup Final

I'm guessing the other was the 1991 LC Final against Wednesday

And I'm claiming attendance at all 4 matches ;)

Correct! He had a very unusual pattern of appearances.

In 89-90 season he was Manchester United's reserve keeper, but played the FA Cup final replay.

90-91 he was 1st choice keeper and played almost a full season, but was missing for the last 5x league games, meaning his final two games that season were Cup Finals.

Then he left the club and came back in 1993-94 playing just 1 FA Cup QF and a League Cup final for a total of three cup finals in his last four games.

Only two Goalkeepers have won the PFA Player of the Year Award. Who were they?

    Jennings and Shilton?

I thought it might have been a bit easy alright. Bonus point for naming the only goalkeeper to win PFA Young player of the year.

Which two clubs are the greatest distance apart in all top flight domestic leagues worldwide?

    Alaniya and Zenit

By air its just over 4000 miles by train 5916 miles a nice and handy away trip.

You end up near Korea having skirted Mongolia, China, and Kazakhstan to get there. You leave Europe fairly early in your journey and cross the Urals into Asia after a few hours.

    http://www.distance.to/Vladivostok_St-Petersburg

Vladivostock is 15 hours ahead of St Petersburg.

BTW its not potentially the longest distance between teams in Russia as there is a Russian enclave between the three Baltic States and Poland which does not have a top flight team at the moment but if a team from this region called Kaliningrad ever got promoted the distance would even get much bigger and would involve passing through foreign nations.

Yes. Twice won the UEFA, once the ECWC and have only managed a 2nd in Serie A.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,721 ✭✭✭Al Capwned

Haven't a clue if they have any more, but i'd guess they dont have a league title...

I was in London the same day Parma won a Cup winners cup final in 92 or 93.

    EDIT - ah ****e......

I was reading about saachi a couple of weeks back, blew my mind. If you're of a certain age you'd assume that Parma were a huge club, in the 90's they were always there or there abouts
