Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It took me a while to think of it as you'd forget Southampton spent a good few years in the top flight, and obviously went through plenty of managers.

Right a double question for everyone.

On the opening weekend of the inaugural Premier League season Sheffield United scored the first goal in the competition's history.

    1. What player scored that goal?
    2. Which team did they Blades beat?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,640 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

    Brian Deane scored.

    V Man United ?

Was it a club competition during the 70s that involved clubs from the home nations?

No although now that you mention it there was an Anglo Scottish cup in the 70s. I dont know if NI or Wales ever got involved.

I'd guess there is a junior club called West Ham here, who played in the FAI cup once, against Shels.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,565 ✭✭✭losthorizon

Correct! They were actually from Belfast believe it or not and were part of the Falls league which was a member of the FAI at the time until UEFA made them leave.

I was thinking this too, but captains instead of managers.
