Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Not these two either.

Actually Holt is a great guess and could be 'an' answer? (I'm not sure tho, it's not the answer I have anyway). I checked Holt and he appears to have all four divisions and a division directly below the conference, but I see no mention of him playing or scoring in the conference itself.

I'm still open to correction on Holt.

In the meantime here's another question :

Who's is the only player to score goals in (1) the conference (2) one of the leagues directly below the conference and (3,4,5,6) all four the divisions of the English league (ie League1+2, Championship, Prem .... or whatever they were called when he did it).

    Graham Alexandre (sp?)

It was on Football Focus that Brian Ormerod was the only player to score for Blackpool in all four divisions, not sure where else he played or scored but i think he played in the Conference too so I'll make a stab at him.

    Brett ? Not Brian I think .

    Neither of these two.

Clue : the player in question has something in common with Graham Alexander insofar as that he only played one season of Premier League football.

    ==

Clue : The player in question was not as prolific in the prem as LeFondre/Lambert/Holt. He is a forward but didn't reach double figures for goals during his single prem season and was only his clubs 3rd highest scorer that season.

However, despite this low return, he managed to score league goals against ManU, ManCity, Arsenal and Liverpool during his single prem season.

    2012– Wrexham 39 (7)

According to wiki Brett Ormerod played and scored for Accrington Stanley in the Northern Premier League in 95-97 which was then (I'm very sure) the 6th level of the Football League. He plays for Wrexham now and scored for them last year in the Conference which is level 5, and has scored for Blackpool in each of the top 4 divisions.

Correct! (or at the very least it's the answer I was looking for). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Taylor-Fletcher
He is the only player to have scored at least once in all of the top six divisions of English football.

WRT to Ormerod Red Kev, at a glance of his stats I'm certainly in agreement with you that he appears to have ticked all the boxes to be the correct answer also. I guess the intro in GTF's wiki hasn't been updated since Ormerod scored his first goal for Wrexham.

    May have been asked already.

Who has won the league in 5 different countries, apparently a record?

*Not sure if he got a medal for one of them as he only played 6 league games

Name one person who has won as a player and/or manager the following:

Their own domestic league and cup
    UEFA/EL Cup
    ECWC Cup
    EC/Champions League Cup
    European Championship
    World Cup

There is at least one that I can think of.

    Beckenbauer?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,793 ✭✭✭Red Kev

Beckenbauer it is. He won them all as a player except the UEFA cup. As president of Bayern he sacked Otto Rehagel two days before the final in 1996, took over the job himself and won it.

If I put my conspiracy hat on, I could say that he made sure he completed the list by firing Rehagel. :D
Maybe he wasn't called the Kaiser for nothing.

Three parter. Ireland goalscorers. Feel free to answer any and/or all parts.

    1) Which player has scored in the most individual/separate games for Ireland (where every time he scored Ireland *always won* the game?)

    2) Which player has scored in the most individual/separate games for Ireland (where Ireland *never lost* (ie win or draw) the game any time he scored)?

    3) Which player has scored in the most individual/separate games for Ireland (where Ireland *never won* (ie draw or loss) any time he scored )?

Is 3 St Ledger? I can think of 3 he scored in that we didn't win, surely the number can't be much higher than that.

    Kevin Doyle for 2?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,793 ✭✭✭Red Kev

Roy Keane for Nr. 2, scored 9, never lost when he did score.

    Kevin Moran for Nr. 3

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,422 ✭✭✭✭Kolido

Is no.2 Duff with 8 games?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,097 ✭✭✭roanoke

Jarrod is correct with St. Ledger for Q3. Three games he's scored in and Ireland failed to win any of them.

All other answers are incorrect so far.

I think you're right on Roy.

3isn't Kevin. He scored in the win against Malta in the 90 qualifying and win against Bulgaria in the 88 qualifiers. Actually could he be the answer to 1?

Just part 1 left to answer now.

    Staunton for part 1 ?
