Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Alonso?

    or Hamann?

I reckon it's an Ajax or Juve ex-player!

Zidane won leagues in Italy and Spain so not him!

Was thinking Kanu but he never won CWC. Ronaldo (Brazil has never won EC)

    Is it Kluivert? Danny Blind?

I've read this and just for clarification 3x titles do not have to be "the complete set". It could be "2x CLs + 1x CWC" or "3x CWC" or "1x CL + 2x UEFA/EUROPA" etc etc

    Viv Anderson?

Found him by accident as I orginally thought of Gary Birtles and then saw he only won Two European titles and as a United supporter I thought of United's CWC win in 1991. so obviously I thought of who did united sign from them? Why Alex Ferguson's first ever signing of course :)

    Nottingham Forest
Football League First Division - 1977–78
    European Cup (2) - in 1978–79, 1979–80

    Manchester United
European Cup Winners' Cup - 1990–91

Who is the first northern hemisphere team to win the European Cup?

Hint: Answer may not be what you think..... :pac:

    Celtic :)

Think he meant Northern European team when he posted that. Its the only thing that makes sense

Hmmm, nothing he said made much sense.

    Cup Winners Cup

They won the CWC in 1998 ;)

    as in Club World Cup

True but reading that last night I think that's what he meant which in a way WAS an achievement by Celtic. What he actually posted was nonsensical unless he meant Northern European teams. So either he was winding people up or just crap at geography.

Impressive! It's not the answer I was looking for and I'm still not convinced Anderson has a CWC medal. He was the definition of a fringe player that season and he only played 1 first round game during the entire CWC campaign. However I can't disprove it either so I'm certainly going to accept it as fact and give you the point for that answer! Congrats!

(BTW if anyone wants to try, the answer I was looking for is still up for grabs) Hint: The player I'm looking for has a World Cup Winners medal.

You may be correct as here is a link to the final and he did not play in it, however he may have played in the earlier rounds

There was no club world cup in 98, unless you meant the intercontinental cup which they won in 97

They won the Champions League in 1997.

What I was talking about was the match against Belo Horizonte, European Champions vs South American Champions.

2 players have scored PL hatricks at the same away grounds on 2 seperate occassion, name the players, bonus if you can name the teams they scored against.

    Gibraltar??

Yep. Took the Photo on Friday. Its Victoria Stadium. You can see some more pitches behind it and behind that isn't a road but the runway of the airport which you have to walk or drive across to get out of Gib.

They are building a new stadium which will be ready for 2016 now that they are new members of UEFA. Where they will find the room I dont know.

I remember seen a picture of that before when Gibraltar was the answer to another question on this thread,I think they had just been accepted as members of UEFA so I checked it out at the time, looks a classy little stadium
