What have England achieved against Brazil, Italy, Netherlands, Romania and Uruguay, but no other team?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,480 ✭✭✭Chancer3001

    Some guesses

    Beaten them after going behind?

Beaten them with the help of an og?

    Beaten them with 9men?

Just to confirm what you mean when you say no other team, is it those 5 and no other team or no other team except Eng against those 5?

It's England versus those 5 countries and no other country.

I've no idea if some other country has done the same against the 5 mentioned, I presume so. But this question solely regards England versus the 5 mentioned.

No idea if that's true, but it's not what I'm looking for.

I would not call it an achievement but I'll guess the answer is

Got knocked out of a tournament at the group stages by them ?

They definitely got knocked out of Euro 88 with a loss in their second game v Netherlands, and I vaguely remember Romania having a hand in their Euro 2000 exit, and Uruguay in WC 14 perhaps ?

It's an achievement alright, but not one to be proud of.

They can change the list over time. Any team can join the list and any team can leave it as well. (Is that too cryptic?)

Have a head to head losing record against them?

Have a head to head losing record against them?

    Yes. Well done.

Oddly enough Germany and West Germany aren't on that list. Neither are Spain, Argentina or France.

What counts as major trophies? I'd say there's a few in recent years with SPL titles but don't know if you're counting them, but you are counting League Cup which I wouldn't consider a major trophy.

Norman Whiteside got some FA Cups with Man Utd in the 80s.

I may be wrong but i think the question asked was which NI player won as club captain, those man utd players above were not club captains afaik.

Plus are we only talking English league & European?

I think Arsenal had an NI captain back around the 70s/80s if the answer goes back that far.

    Relatively easy question
There are 2 teams currently in the PL who don't have a player who's been at Man Utd or Chelsea
    Who are they?
