Martin was tragically killed on a training ride yesterday. He leaves behind a young wife and four young children. Martin was an active club member, was involved in organising Tri795 for the last three years and was a genuinely genuinely nice guy. He will be sorely missed.

I can imagine. I heard about this last night, but didnt know who it was till this morning. My heart goes out to his family and everyone who knows him. We train as a hobby, we ride to have fun, its utterly tragic to have something like this happen to someone so thoroughly enjoying life.

Put 2 and 2 together as soon as I saw the thread. It could be any of us mourning a club mate today. :(

Best wishes to his family, friends and club mates.

Its so sad to hear that for his family and fellow club members. As was said about it could be any of us hearing the death of a fellow club member.

But no matter the club its a fellow triathlete that has lost their life and more important a father of 4:(

He helped out at our Tinahely Duathlon last year, one of the many helpful enthusiasts that make Triathlon such a welcoming community. Deepest sympathies to his wife, family, and clubmates.
